For Christmas I was given a gift set of 5 L'Occitane hand creams, and yes as you can tell from the timing of this review, I ripped it open prematurely! One of the creams is the Cherry Blossom fragrance. The little tube which contains 15ml (half of their normal smallest size of 30ml which costs around £7.00) is exactly same in appearance as the 30ml, and is the same as the Dooyoo picture. The larger size of 75ml has different packaging.

The first thing I notice about this is that it isn't such good value as the rich shea butter hand cream which comes in 150ml tubes, the largest size I've seen this in is 75mls and it costs £13.50 on the L'Occitane website, which is nearly as much as the 150mls of the other variety. I do find L'Occitane products to be expensive and couldn't buy them for everyday use but if I could afford it I would definitely splash out on their handcreams; they are fabulous quality.

L'Occitane's hand creams are the best I've come across, there are lots of lovely creams I haven't tried yet though so I can't say they'll never be surpassed for me, but as yet they are my go to product when my hands feel ropey. This variety contains their trademark shea butter though not in the same high concentration as their shea butter original hand cream, vitamin E and glycerin amongst other things, all things which either contain excellent moisturising properties and or antioxidants.

The cream is white and has a feather light texture almost gel like which smoothes into the skin instantly leaving it velvety soft with not a trace of grease to be seen or felt. There is absolutely no tackiness or prolonged absorption period with this cream.

The scent is pleasant and quite floral, though I can't tell whether it is cherry blossom or not as I've never really smelt cherry blossom. To me it smells a little rose like with a bit of a 'ping' at the back of the nose. The scent isn't overpowering but has a definite 'perfumey' quality about it. It does have some staying power and I catch little hints of it as I go about my business for an hour or so afterwards.

As with all L'Occitane products it's ethically produced using plant products and oils and the only thing derived from animals that you will find in their ranges is honey and beeswax, even the glycerine is vegetable based

For me this cream isn't as effective at moisturising as the original shea butter variety, and although it is much better and longer lasting than most creams I've yet bought in places like Tesco (nivea, etc) it doesn't have the staying power of its richer sister.

This cream sinks into my skin fast (as mentioned) which is good but I don't feel that my hands have been quite 'satisfied' and I need to used a little more of this than the richer version. So I don't think a full size tube of this would last me that long, I would probably use it once or twice a day or before going out to conserve it a bit, using other cheaper products in between.

However it's a beautiful cream with a lovely feminine scent and it doesn't irritate my skin which can be quite sensitive. I'd highly recommend this cream for those who love a floral fragrance and aren't looking for a rich thick cream for very dry, damaged or older skin.
