Advantages: Leaves my skin soft and nourished
Disadvantages: The price
I love using body butters and body creams, and I have more of them that I could ever possibly use... But there's always room for more! When I saw L'occitane's Almond Milk Concentrate, I couldn't leave it behind.
What does the product do?
The product is a body cream which has been designed to soften and nourish the skin on the body. It has ingredients which mimic collagen, strengthening and tightening the skin, restoring it to its former glory. It contains both Almond Oil and Almond Milk and promises to leaves the skin looking and feeling healthier.
How do you use the product?
The product is to be used in the same way as you would use a normal body moisturiser. For hygiene reasons, you should remove the cream with a spatula because otherwise your fingers could transfer germs into the cream. It is to be applied to the skin on the body generously and it is to be massaged into the skin until it has been fully absorbed. It can be reapplied as often as required. L'occitaine say that this milk is perfect for using after you have shaved your legs because of the nourishing and soothing Almond Milk.
Packaging and Price
The packaging is the main thing that made me buy this cream. It comes contained within a glass jar which is curvy in shape and looks really expensive. It has the L'occitane logo on the front and a screw top silver lid to keep the milk safe and contained. A silver foil covers the cream which needs to be removed the first time that you use the product. The milk will cost you around £30 for 200ml so it doesn't come cheap. It can be bought from large department stores and from some online websites.
Application and Performance
The product has an usual consistency is like a mix because a cream, lotion and a gel. It is white and colour, and it doesn't have much a scent. It smells naturally and a little bit nutty, which is to be expected. It has a light texture that absorbs quickly into the skin and it doesn't take massaging until it is all gone. The product feels really luxurious on the skin and you can tell it is a high quality product. It doesn't leave any greasiness on the skin, only a healthy sheen, and you can get dressed or jump straight into bed after application.
The product makes my skin feel comfortable straight and removes all feelings of tightness and dryness. It seems to brighten my skin and removes any dullness on my knees and elbows. My feels really soft and smooth after use, and it does look healthy and in a much better condition. I've tried it out straight after shaving my legs and it doesn't sting at all. It really does feel soothing on my legs and I imagine it would work really well as an after sun product, not that I would be testing that out any time soon.
Conclusion
All in all, this is a high quality product which makes my skin feel soft, smooth and in a good condition. The packaging is beautiful, the product is largely scent free and it absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving a greasy residue. You don't need to use much of the product in order to get the desired results which is a relief considering the price. I would happily repurchase this but I'll keep it for special occasions. I love this product but I'm knocking off one star for the price.
