I am a great fan of L'Occitane so when earlier in the year I was going into hospital for a few days to have our second son my husband got me a wash bag with a few small travel size L'Occitane goodies in it. This Pivoine Flora beauty milk was one of them and is a delightful favourite of mine.

About L'Occitane
*****************
For those of you unfamiliar with this brand L'Occitane is a French company with its roots in the Province region. They try to use natural ingredients within their products and try where possible to also use organic products if possible. They try to keep to a minimum artificial preservatives and silicones within their goods. If you want to know more about them they have a very good website http://uk.loccitane.com. Within the UK they sell their goods either over the internet, in a few L'Occitane boutiques up and down the country and some of their goods are available via QVC.

The claims
*************
A L'Occitane claim that this moisturising lotion perfumes and embellishes the skin. It is enriched with grape seed oil and Shea butter both of which moisturises and softens the skin.

The milk is white fluid that is nice and light in texture. I have to admit I was expecting it to be a bit thicker than it is but milk is definitely the correct word to describe it rather than a cream. Again as with the shower gel in the same range I was surprised at the colour as the bottle makes you think it is going to be a delicate pink but this is just the packaging. I tend to apply this following showering with the shower gel in the same range and I find it quickly penetrates the skin and is easily absorbed. It doesn't leave a greasy residue on the skin which I find hugely pleasing as some heavier creams I have tried tend to leave my skin feeling oily rather than nourished which this one does. The milk tends to leave my skin feeling lovely and soft with a delicate flowery perfume of peonies lingering on my skin. The softness of the skin last several hours as does the fragrance which lingers around giving impressions of a mellow haze of flowery cottage gardens. The softness that the milk gives my skin after several days' worth of use is very pleasing and I can notice an improvement in the dry areas such as my elbows. My skin is normal type so this suits it very well as it is neither so heavy to make my skin feel oily nor as light as to feel as if there is nothing there. Equally it isn't harsh and seems to complement my natural skin oils well rather than stripping excess oil out of my skin. I find that you don't need to use much to get good results but my travel size 75ml bottle did only last the about 2 weeks of use so you will find a bottle will probably only last around 6-8 weeks .

Now whilst this was a great gift to receive and I find it is a lovely body milk and the scent is wonderful at a price of £18.50 I am not sure it is one I can justify on a regular basis. However it is one I will ask for again for a gift as it is just such a unique scent that lingers well and leave my skin feeling soft and supple.

Summary: A lovely body milk that leaves the skin soft and supple with a fabulous scent
