Advantages: Good for handbag or toolbox!, seriously repairs skin, Comfortable, non greasy

Disadvantages: Pricey, Not easily available

I am not new to L'Occitane products as I am a fan of their Verbena range, which is divine. I got a small 30ml tube of this hand creme for a trial run. I apply hand cream regularly throughout the day and at night before I sleep so am always buying the stuff. I was not impressed with some of my last purchases (like Neutrogena and Vichy) which leave an unpleasant glove of waxy silicone on my skin. I feel like washing them straight after.

The packaging of L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Creme is not sensational but I think that's the whole point. The container looks exactly like the type of metal paint tubes used in art class! It has a certain minimalist appeal that tells me that L'Occitane as a company want to convey to the consumer that this is a no frills, no nonsense, hard working product for hard working hands - male or female, young or old!

The creme is very thick as it comes out of the tube and although I was expecting a slightly nutty aroma, it has no distinct smell, in fact I would classify this as "fragrance free". I only need a hazelnut size dab to cover my hands and my skin is instantly soft but not at all greasy. I have noticed a remarkable improvement in the condition of my cuticles since I started using this (6 weeks) just once a night before bed. I also apply it on my feet, knees and elbows with excellent results.

Now that the creme is almost finished, I completely flatten the end of the tube to make sure there is nothing left behind and roll the ends up like a tube of toothpaste!

I intend to purchase a full size product next time to keep by my bed side table but because it is quite dear, I shall continue to use "boring" hand cremes during the day since I wash my hands very frequently.

This is the best seriously rich hand creme I have ever used and although pricey, it is highly concentrated and a little goes a very long way!
