Advantages: Moisturing, multi-tasking product.

Disadvantages: May not be for those who have issues with SLS.

I love L'occitane !! They're a French brand from the heart of Provence and I just love their ingredients and their natural and traditional recipes ethos and I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their shea butter range, along with their almond range and are probably my favourite bath/body products from L'occitane.

This particular product is part of the shea butter range and this is the 'milk' version, although other versions are available. The milk version has a very 'clean' smell and is therefore suitable for those who do not like to use strongly fragranced body products in general.

*Who is this for ? *

I would say this is for all skin types. However, I would always say that for those with ultra sensitive skins I would patch-test first, especially those who known to be irritated by the use of SLS ( Sodium Laureth Sulfate ) in products.

*Please note that although Shea butter is a solid fatty oil made from the nuts of Karite Nut trees, they do not belong in the list of commonly allergenic tree nuts and nor have there been any documented reactions to shea butter in any medical literature. Also, since it is the oil from the shea nut that is used, it only contains a little protein which is what triggers the allergic reaction. However, with all allergies you should use caution and if in doubt, do not use ANY shea butter products.

*Why does this work ? *

The main ingredient for me is the shea butter because I love shea butter for keeping my body moisturised and this product contains 5% Shea butter. ( Different products in the shea butter range use varying amounts of shea butter. )

Shea butter, as already noted, comes from the oil of the shea nut and therefore contains only a little protein as a result. However, since it contains Wheat Amino Acids, that protein is needed to keep those amino acids in place ( which are easily absorbed by the skin ) and the reason why it makes a great shampoo is because the protein coats the outer hair shaft and locks the amino acids in. Amino acids themselves are being used more and more in skin-care, especially anti-aging skin care, because not only is it thought to help with the visible appearance of lines and wrinkles, but it's also known for improving skin tone and colour whilst also providing gentle exfoliation, whilst the protein itself leaves the skin soft and supple.

*How to use *

This is of course as a body cream that can be used in the bath/shower and with the use of sponges/gloves for a lovely creamy lather, but it can also be used on the hair too. This is handy for those who are trying to cut down on the amount of products on their bathroom shelves or the amount of products they need to take away on holiday with them and thus like multi-task products for ease and convenience as a result.

*Ingredients*

Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycol Distearate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Chloride, Cocamide Mea, Laureth 10, Fragrance, Sodium Lauroyl Wheat Amino Acids, PEG-75, Shea Butter Glycerides, Sorbitol, Benzyl Alcohol, Citronellol, Benzyl Benzoate, Butyphenyl, Methypropinol, Hydroxyisohexyl. 3-cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Linalool, Alpha-methyl, Ionone, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone.

Summary: A good little all rounder that is handy to use on holiday when less products are needed !!
