L'Oreal Kids Extra Gentle 2 in 1 Strawberry Smoothie Shampoo
by MrsD76

Silly singing
~~~~~~~~
I have written on here before about the trauma involved in washing my daughter's hair! Thankfully now she is four things have got slightly easier and the method that works for us is for her to hold a flannel over her eyes while we take it in turns to sing a silly song!
Like me she ... has naturally curly hair that can get itself in a tangle, so I always hope that any shampoos I buy for her help me to keep it soft and tangle free. And this shampoo promises to eliminate knots and leave hair smooth. It currently costs £2.19 in Boots, but as always do look around for offers!
Fruity locks
~~~~~~~~
I love fruit fragranced products so this of course appealed to me! I also hoped it would help my daughter enjoy washing her hair a bit more too.
The bottle itself is very pink and girlie and is actually designed to look like a fish if you place it on its side. Although this doesn't really work very well to be honest! But anyway it is what's inside that counts...
~~~~~~~~~~~
Rich and lathery
~~~~~~~~~~~
The shampoo is a nice thick texture and I have made the mistake in the past of using a bit too much of this on my daughter's hair. It only takes seconds to get a nice rich lather, and I find that if I accidentally overdo it, it can take ages to wash out. This can be tedious, and quite annoying when I am trying to keep up with the singing of the silly song! So I definitely think a little goes a very long way, and this bottle seems to be lasting us for ages as a result.
The smell is lovely and both myself and my daughter both absolutely love it. It is very sweet and fruity, and to be honest I would be quite happy to use a product myself with this smell!
As I mentioned before, this can take a little bit of time to wash out of my daughter's hair, which is why I don't use too much of it, but once it's washed out her hair does feel soft and smooth. However the ends can sometimes still be a little tangled, and I do occasionally add a little of my own conditioner to the ends of her hair to give them an extra touch of moisture.
Once her hair is dry, it definitely feels really soft and clean, and has a nice cute fluffiness about it! The smell is also there lingering a little.
~~~~~~~~
In summary
~~~~~~~~
Overall I really like this shampoo and would buy it again. My only slight complaint would be that it can be a bit tricky to wash out, and that it isn't quite moisturising enough for my daughter's hair but in the main I really like it. It smells lovely, and a little goes a long way! Read the complete review |

L'Oreal Kids Soothing Lavender Shampoo
by lorrainek858
I love trying out new shampoos and a few months ago I took a notion of the Lavender Loreal Kids one, I picked it up on complete impulse after having a little sniff of the shampoos in Tescos and decided to give it a go.
Application
This shampoo is really easy to apply, you simply take a small dollop and lather it up and ... rinse it out, I found that this shampoo is really easy to rinse out (probably because it is for use on children) and I found it easy to apply and rinse out. An added bonus is that this shampoo is tear free so it is gentle if it gets in your eyes and does not sting or irritate them too much.
Scent
This shampoo has a real lavender scent to it, it is lovely to use when you are washing your hair at night time and want to chill out and relax, the scent is not too over powering, but it is noticable. I really love the lavender scent and it kind of reminds me of the beautician and pampering.
What I Thought
I really liked this shampoo, it makes my hair look really shiney and feel really clean and fresh. I find that when I use this shampoo my hair does not need to be washed as frequently and it keeps its style and volume much longer.
I really loved the scent from this shampoo and found that it lingered nicely in my hair, it is lovely to use at bedtime as it has quite a relaxing, calming scent and it really helps you wind down after a hard days work.
I know this shampoo is aimed at childrens use, but I found that this shampoo is just as good to use on my own and I would definitely recommend it to use as an every day shampoo as it does not weight down your hair and just leaves you with silky, fresh hair.
Price and Availability
You can buy a 250ml bottle of this shampoo in Tesco for £1.99, I think that this is a great price for this shampoo and will definitely buy it again in the furure.
Overall
I really liked this shampoo, it has a really calming scent to it and it left my hair really clean and easy to manage, also it is easy to rinse out and has a no tears formula. Overall I would give this shampoo 5 out of 5 stars.

L'Oreal Elvive Colour Protect Conditioner
by madeindevon
I am very careful about what products I put on my hair as I have an intermittent scalp problem. When my scalp is clear and healthy I will use various beauty shampoo's, but when it is itchy and flakey I need to be careful, so then I tend to use a medicated shampoo, but then I use a nice quality conditioner, to make my hair feel ... softer.
I like to shop around, I am quite a "savvy shopper" so only buy the particularly nice products when they are on special offer.
A couple times this week I have used Elvive Colour Protect Caring Conditioner, this - in theory - is the right conditioner for my hair, as my hair is highlighted and has been many times, therefore the condition of my hair can be rather rough and dry with all the old bleach left on there.
This conditioner is on special offer in Superdrug at the moment £1.95 - February 2013) but I believe that I paid less than the Superdrug price for it a couple months ago in a special offer at Tesco.
My opinion,
At first when I poured a blob onto the palm of my hand, I thought that I lliked the smell, the conditioner also had a glossy shine to it, like many of the other products these days, the shine in it reminds me of silicone!
Massaging the conditioner into my hair it certainly did feel really lovely, a little bit of the product went a long way. I have long hair and as I am careful of my scalp, I massage the conditioner into the hair but try to avoid actually rubbing it into my scalp, after all it is the bleached hair that this conditioner is trying to help improve and there is none of that on my roots.
The conditioner rinsed out well and after I rubbed my hair dry with the towel I was pleased to find that the comb went through my hair with ease.
I blew dry my hair and left the house that morning feeling that my hair was in good condition, it smelt nice, looked nice and had a nice shine to it.
Well done me! I have found the right product!
Unfortunately though, this was not to be. Within a couple hours I noticed that my hair looked quite lank, over-conditioned and greasy. Now I cannot possibly blame the shampoo for this, as it was a day that I used a medicated one, the same brand that I have been using for some time. he conditioner was obviously at fault.
I gave the product the benefit of the doubt and have used it again since, and made sure I used less - I made doubly sure that none of the conditioner went onto my roots, but I had the same problem.
Everyones hair is different, my hair is prone to being a bit greasy when it needs a wash, not everyone's does.
This conditioner may suit others, but I will not be using it again - which is a shame, as I liked it a great deal in the first place. I can see that there is another conditioner in the same range by L'Oreal, which is a "light" version - making me think that I am not the only person to have had this issue?
Current cost £1.95 at Superdrug for a 400ml bottle, it is on special offer there at the moment - from £3.99 - I think that this price can be bettered by shopping around though. Read the complete review |
