Advantages: Good brand, lovely smooth mousse type cream, nice to use.

Disadvantages: Perhaps the price, not a wonder cream.

As part of my ongoing attempts to look after ME a little better I thought I would try and address my poor old skin. Having spent the best part of 2008 in a caravan, with a house undergoing restoration works, sadly most of our little treats and home comforts went by the by. This certainly took a toll on such things as my hair and skin, as well as a million and one more important things. Hubby too had his fair share of gripes but his skin was not one of them. Still I have decided that wrinkled old prune is not a good look and have bought a jar of L'Oreal Age Perfect Re-Hydrating Day Cream for Mature skin. Sadly I will never look as good as Jane Fonda in the adverts, despite being 20 years her junior, but perhaps I can improve on what I have got.

It is a sad fact of life that as we get older our skin does not replenish itself in quite the same way as when we are young. Using a moisturiser will help diminish the damage and signs of aging but it cannot stop or turn back time. However some face creams are designed to work on youthful skin. Using a moisturiser that is made with the more mature person in mind is therefore sensible. At least then it should be one that is aimed at the particular problems associated with aging.

L'Oreal Age Perfect Re-Hydrating Day Cream.
===================================

This face cream is packed in a box, which is then cellophane wrapped. I like this as it means I know that no shopper has been sticking their finger or worse in the cream. The jar contains 50mls which at around £6.99 is not the cheapest cream around. However I have seen it priced higher in other stores. I bought mine at T J Hughes.

Opening the small jar the first thing I noticed was the consistency of the cream. It is thick and dense with a look of a mousse texture. It is a pale peach colour and has a light but pleasant fragrance. The cream has no particular fragrance but is pleasant all the same.

Taking a little cream out of the jar it is rich but fairly dry. I like this as because it is non greasy it should be easily absorbed. When applied to the face and neck area it does leave your skin feeling soft and smooth with no discernible smell. However despite the fact that it seems to be absorbed well, it cannot be 100%. I have found that using the Oxy cleansing pads, even much later in the day, a residue from the cream is still on my skin.

The small leaflet which is enclosed in the box recommends that you use the other products in this range for maximum results. These include other anti-sagging day creams, eye cream, toner and more. I may try an odd one but will not be following their advice as:-
a) I do not have that kind of money.
b) I do not have the time.
c) I feel it is pointless and unnecessary.

However the packaging does state that there is a full anti-sagging programme to follow with these products as they have a 'Collagen Boost' which helps tighten, and remodel the shape, of your skin.

Well that may be true or it may just be the advertising hype. I have to say that at present I am quite pleased my L'Oreal Age Perfect Re-Hydrating Day Cream. It has a melanin block which helps the old age spots and does leave my skin feeling nice. I cannot say that this product has knocked ten years of my skin, unfortunately, but it does leave it feeling cared for and that is what I wanted.

Recommended as a good everyday face cream for the more mature skin, which will leave you feeling a little pampered.

Thanks for reading
Merry Christmas
