In December last year I bought myself my first blush in ages. I?m not the biggest make-up wearer because I?m allergic to scented products and that narrows your choices a lot, but with my wedding day looming over me in January I figured I had to look extra good.

After a fun time browsing and trying every sample in the shop I settled on L?Oreal?s ?Blush delicieux? Golden Apricot.

The packing says it comes with added vitamin C for ?a healthy, radiant glow!? I?m not so sure that wiping powdered vitamin C on your face actually is worth anything, but I liked the colour and the scent was heavenly. It not only was a soft apricot colour, it was scented gently apricot as well. Delicious, or "delicieux" as the name states! Plus, my wedding dress was cream with peach roses so the blush fitted my colour scheme perfectly.

Using the product. Once out of it?s wrapper you have a small flat container about one inch square holding the hard-packed powder, brush a teeny mirror. It's like a teeny weeny compact. I do find the lid tricky to open. It's quite tight and not much of an opening to get your fingernail under to lever the lid off, but the small neat design does make it easy to take with you in a handbag and the tight clip lid means it's not going to burst open. This has it's advantages as I've often had eye shadows burst open in travel bags and handbags and the mess isn't easy to clean out.

Once opened the apricot scent was quite strong and very pleasant. I?ve had it almost a year now and the smell is faint, but still there. Inside is a wide soft brush the same dimensions as the container. The hard-packed powder below fluffs onto the brush easily and goes on very smooth and light. It?s easy to blend and feels good. It's a translucent powder that doesn't overpower and it's got a slight shimmer. It lasted well for my wh
ole wedding day (got video evidence to prove it!) and I?ve used a few times since as an eye shadow as well. This was during a hot rainy-steamy South African summer so I can vouch that it doesn't disappear if you perspire or get wet.

The online shop lists Rosewood, Sugar Praline and Candy Cane Pink as the colours on offer this past summer. At the moment Terracotta and Golden Chestnut are the winter offers. Most of the websites are European. I did manage to get through a German one ok, they seem to be advertising Candy Cane Pink for the Christmas party look. The rest I put through Google automatic translator, but it turned them into garble. On one there were five colour choices, but the names defied translation. The two extra colours were ?zloto moreli? and ?slodycz zboz?.

Personally I was very impressed and would recommend it. As I bought mine in South Africa I had to check online for UK prices. Boots.com offers it at 6.99 each yet beautyspotcosmetics.co.uk offers it at 3.49 each!! So it seems you?d be wise to shop around.
