As you have probably guessed from my previous reviews, I am a big fan of make-up and wear it everyday. I love experimenting with different looks, from neutral to bright, matte to shimmery, you name it, I've probably tried it. I also love doing looks like will make my big blue eyes pop, so when I was browsing in Boots a while ago and found this eyeshadow trio for blue eyes, I was sold instantly.

L'Oreal Color Appeal Trio Pro Eyeshadow is different for every eye colour, so unless you occasionally wear coloured contacts, you only have to buy one. Each set is also advertised on a celebrity/model with the suitable eye colour for that trio.

The trio comes in a rectangular black plastic pan with gold writing on the front. On the back/underside, there is a label with instructions and a diagram on how to use the trio to get the best out of it. This is written in a few different languages so it can be universally understood.

Each different shadow in the trio has a number pressed into it. 1, 2 or 3. In my trio, for blue eyes, number 1 is a slightly shimmery, brown. Number 2 is a shimmery cream and number 3 is a shimmery cream/tan colour. Each has a different purpose, 2 is the lid colour, 1 is the crease colour and 3 is the highlight colour.

Not only does the trio come with the shadows, but it also comes with two sponge applicators, which in my opinion are completely useless as sponge applicators are awful for make-up application.

Now, onto the actual shadows. Do they do what they say? Are they pigmented? Do they have staying power?

I did a small experiment for you all, which in turn made me look slightly ridiculous to anyone who paid attention to my eyes, but it's all in the name of dooyoo, right?
On my left eye, I applied the trio with no base. Just straight shadow. On my right eye, I applied it on top of a base. This was to see if the shadows themselves would crease or fade and to see if they were extra pigmented over a base or not.
The base I used was Urban Decay Primer Potion.
On my left eye, the colours were subtle and had fairly good pigmentation.
On the right eyes, the brown (number 1), completely changed. It became deeper and more of a grey brown, which looked extremely odd with the other two colours which stayed the same.

So off I went to work with my slightly different eye make-up, which thankfully wasn't noticed by the biggest make-up buff there. I did receive a few comments about how my eyes looked bigger and brighter, so that was a plus.

10pm came around and both eyes were left uncreased and unfaded.
This means that I won't have to use primer when using this look, therefore saving me money.

Like I said before, the trio comes in different shades for different eye colours.
Plum Crystal - dark eyes
Toffee Crystal - hazel eyes
Honey Brown - hazel eyes
Beige Taupe - blue eyes
Sapphire Crystal - blue eyes
Golden Green - green eyes
Platinum Rose - grey eyes

As you can see, there is one for every colour of eyes, so no one is left out!

You can buy these sets in Boots for £6.84 and can collect 24 advantage card points in the process.

Overall, I think this is a great little trio and I'll definitely be using it alot in the future. It's alot easier than taking 3-6 separate pans of eyeshadow/highlighter/paint pots etc with you for touchups, so it's extremely handy. Plus, the pigmentation is pretty good, and there's no creasing or fading!
It's also great for people who want to start doing deeper looks with their make-up but don't know where to start as it has the instructions and diagram on the back.

Thanks for reading!
