Advantages: Smells goegeous, deep conditioning treatment...

Disadvantages: Expensive for me...

I have been ruining my hair by dying it a strong purple colour and then washing, blow drying and straightening it every day with my GHD's...

So recently I have been trying to breathe new life into it and add back some of the goodness and moisture I have stripped from the strands.

One of the products I am not to touch in the bathroom is this 'L'Oreal Elvive Colour Protect Protecting Masque' - so it must be good, lol!

Sold in a bright red circular pot with 200ml in it, I have seen this for sale for around £4 although they are often on offer with a third off in Boots.

Once opened the contents can be used for up to a year so that's cool :)

The write up on the back says that this conditioner: 'intensely nourishes, protects the hair and prolongs colour radiance'. The fact this stuff keeps colour locked in for longer is just as important to me as the hydrating factor as my purple pigment fades so quickly because of my daily shampooing :(

L'Oreal say to immediately rinse if it gets in the eyes but I think we have all had conditioner get accidentally in our eyes at some point so that sounds like common sense to me!

It is simple enough to use, after squeezing excess water off the hair after washing you put a generous amount on (half a palm full for me as mine is long) and leave for 1-2 minutes although I try and leave it a bit longer when I can so it absorbs even deeper into my damaged locks...

The solution itself is quite thick and gloopy, like a partly set jelly and it a light pink too!

In untwisting the screw on lid for the first time I was surprised how much perfume this stuff had in it, it's really strong but does smell lovely and expensive.

After rinsing and drying I could still smell the fragrance which I liked :)

I think this is brilliant conditioner; it really does work deep down. My hair was quite brittle and over-processed but I noticed a big difference after using this a couple of times a week.

It's a bit expensive to use every day, but there was a big improvement in how soft and supple my hair seemed, I could comb it easier and it didn't feel as nearly as dry.

This colour protect masque is great stuff, I do think it helps keep colour in hair longer and definitely conditions it well - five stars from me, I'd use it all the time if I could!

Summary: The best intensive conditioner I have used :)
