Advantages: REALLY HELPS HYDRATE AND CREATE BODY...
Disadvantages: TAD EXPENSIVE PRICE TAG...
On the very day I bought this product I saw the lovely Cheryl Cole advertising it on TV so I must be doing something right buying this brand new hair care product?!
Browsing in Boots last week my eye spied a very chunky looking pot in the usual L'Oreal range. The tub was so big I had all on holding it in one hand while I read the marketing blurb, but my curiosity was piqued enough to pay the full price of £4.88 to try this 'Elvive Full Restore<5 Replenishing Masque' at home.
With a vibrant red twist on lid and a white body, this pot is, in my opinion, quite gaudy compared to some of the other Elvive ranges but that matters little really as I was more interested in the creamy pure white contents as I took a sneaky sniff of the lovely smelling conditioner.
Reading up on the website (www.loreal-paris.co.uk) to see what the makers had to say about their new baby, it is described as: 'Reinforcing : Enriched with Pro-Keratin, the conditioner formula reinforces each hair fibre leaving it feeling straightened and better able to resists daily wear and tear', it sounds wonderful...
On the front of my 300ml pot there is the word New along with the Fibre Enforcing technology as described above. The Masque's main claim is that is helps re-introduce shine and body back into problem tresses that suffer with the following five common hair conditions:
Weak
Limp
Lifeless
Dull
Straw-like.
Well that covers but a few of my beleaguered mane's conditions so it was worth a shot!
As a person that is brutal in her hair regime my locks need all the intensive conditioning they could get and I knew that out of 300ml I could get a fair few applications for my money's worth.
The Pro-Keratin ingredient is accompanied by Ceramide to actively serum-enrich this thick, gloopy solution. Glycerin is also in a comprehensive chemical list but important to know even though it is gently fragranced it has not affected my Dermatitis on the several occasions I have already used this stuff...
Made in Germany and having a shelf life of 12 months once opened the robust pot can be recycled also.
So easy to use you simply shampoo you hair as usual and then apply (I comb mine through for thorough strand coverage) leaving for 1-2 minutes to absorb fully before rinsing off.
I found the concoction to be thick enough to coat each strand but not too thick that is was sticky or difficult to spread. I also loved the slightly floral aroma, to me this Masque smells expensive with an after-smell that is pleasantly fragrant rather than cloying.
After rinsing I was amazed at how sleek my mane felt; soft and definitely more supple with a lot of the straw-like dryness that is the main problem for my over-processed tresses removed and replaced with moisturised and I would say strengthened hair.
L'Oreal promise replenished hair and that's exactly how mine had felt every time I've used this product - full of body and life.
Thus far I am using every other day to try and feed some goodness back into my hair. This hair care range also consists of a new shampoo and conditioner and they all claim to replenish the hair by working on the fibres.
This science makes sense to me - go deeper than the surface of each strand to reinforce the structure of the fibres to make for stronger hair overall.
A very technological product this is and I think it is working for me. I will not hesitate to purchase another tub once mine is empty as I think it and myself are both worth it!
5 supple Dooyoo Stars for a hydrating replenishing intensive conditioner that really delivers the goods. My hair is definitely not as dull, limp and lifeless since I've used this, plus I'm hoping the strengthening component continues to make a difference to the daily styling punishment it has to endure!
