Advantages: smells great, leaves hair soft and smooth
Disadvantages: pricey
My hair needs a good shampoo and conditioner as I colour it often and that is harsh to hair. My hair is also prone to being greasy the day after it is washed and with a 2 year old I just don't have the time or the energy to wash and dry my hair every day!
It was by pure chance that I came across L'Oreal Elvive Nutri-Gloss light in my local Asda. It was priced at £2 for 400ml, the same for the matching shampoo, but it usually retails in most supermarkets for around £3.79 so it was a bargain. The bottle is pink which is my favourite colour so naturally it caught my eye! The lids are flip lids in a green colour. The shampoo has the lid on top and the conditioner has the lid on the bottom. This means that if you stand your conditioner on the lid as intended, it's always ready when you need it. It also makes it easier to differentiate between the conditioner and shampoo - something that isn't easy at first glance as the words 'shampoo' and 'conditioner' are in small fonts on the bottles!
The bottle states it is for mid to long length hair prone to greasiness - although I don't see why you couldn't use it on short hair! The conditioner itself is white in colour and quite a thin consistency, certainly thinner than most conditioners out there. The texture is very smooth and creamy and it lathers very easily and well. Despite it being quite thin, I didn't need to use as much as I normally do with other conditioners so a bottle actually goes quite far! There is a lovely fruity scent that comes out when you're lathering your hair, it's not overpowering and it smells really nice. Rinsing the conditioner out is quick and easy and it rinses out really well unlike thicker conditioners.
The result? I was very surprised and pleased to say that my hair at no point felt heavy or 'coated', and it left my hair a lot smoother than usual as well as very very soft. It also has a lovely subtle smell which I can still smell some twelve hours later.
My only problem with this conditioner is that it is not intensive enough for me - particularly as my hair is combination greasy but dry as I colour it blonde every month. It is a fabulous conditioner for regular use, but for me personally I would still need to use an intensive hair treatment at least once a month. On the bright side this is something I have always had to do anyway and is probably more to do with my hair than the brand of conditioner!
I have been very pleasantly surprised with this conditioner and definitely recommend it - no greasiness the next day for me anymore!
