Advantages: cheap

Disadvantages: limp hair

I have to say, L'Oreal are on the whole a trustworthy name and often their products do exactly as they claim, this is not one of the better buys though, here is why.

The test:

This is supposed to contain pearl protein and make the hair feel silky and smooth and soft. I dispensed a small blob, it lathers up alright and is easy to work into the hair. The smell is pleasant, a gentle fruity fragrance with I thought a hint of strawberries. it washes out fine and you can feel that the hair feels clean and light.

Afterthoughts:

After the blowdry, the hair felt very light, but it did also feel quite static-like. The shampoo seemed to have drained it of any bounce and volume. It did feel clean and fresh but it just felt too airy. Trying to product the hair was thus harder to do, as the hair shafts appeared to lack their usual volume.

Verdict: For under two quid a bottle this is a good value shampoo and would suffice for a day to day wash. It will make the hair feel soft but it does leave it feeling lifeless too.

Summary: acceptable
