Advantages: Gorgeous smell, light creamy formula, cleanses and moisturises.

Disadvantages: None

I have never been much of a fan of L'Oreal's shampoo or conditioning products as everytime I tried one I would be left disappointed with the results. So when a friend of mine recommended L'Oreal's Elvive Nutri-Gloss range, I was unconvinced by her claims that it was really good. To prove her point she gave me a sample-sized bottle to try of one of the shampoo products in this range - Nutri-Gloss Pearl Protein. To my surprise I really liked it and bought a bottle after being pleased with the results on my hair.

I had spotted this 'Elvive Nutri-Gloss Light Shine Shampoo' sitting on the shelves in shops alongside the Pearl Protein Shampoo and after noticing they were on offer recently in Morrisons on a two x 250ml bottles for £3 offer, I decided I would try it.

L'Oreal Elvive Nutri-Gloss Light Shine Shampoo comes in the same girly pink bottle as the pearl protein product and whilst I am personally not a fan of anything pink, the colour does ensure it stands out on the shelves.
This shampoo is suitable for mid to long hair that gets greasy. I have long hair that can become greasy at the roots but dry at the ends, so I thought this light formula may be suitable. It has been developed to revive your hair's shine when your hair has a tendency to turn greasy quickly and become dull and flat.

The formula contains Citrus and Pearl as its active elements. Citrus is known to have purifying properties and Pearl gives the shine. Therefore the combination of the two should free your hair from impurities whilst cleansing. The light formula ensures your hair does not feel overloaded with product.

~~ Mirror shine, cashmere touch? ~~

L'Oreal state you will achieve mirror shine, cashmere touch but even lighter, when using this shampoo and I was keen to put it to the test and see if I liked this as much as the Pearl Protein shampoo.

One of the things I liked about the Pearl Protein shampoo was its fragrance. I used to love the smell of Clairol's old Herbal Essences range before they changed it and on first smelling the Pearl Protein shampoo I was reminded of that range and love the smell. Therefore I was just as pleased when on smelling this Nutri-Gloss Light shampoo I realised it has a very similar, if not the same fragrance as Pearl Protein. It is a fragrance which is difficult to describe - slightly fruity and slightly floral, but the best I can say is that it will remind you of products in the Herbal Essences range if you remember them. It has a really lovely fragrance which is quite unique and I like the fact I can smell it on my hair a long time after washing it.

The texture of this shampoo is creamy but appears lighter and slightly runnier than the other shampoo. It lathers really quickly and also feels quite luxurious as you massage this into your hair. It certainly seems to have good moisturising properties without feeling heavy.
I also like the feel of my hair after rinsing out the shampoo. My hair feels clean and moisturised and there is no residue left behind. I like to team this with the matching conditioner, but I have also used it with another favourite conditioner of mine and it works just as well. My hair is tangle-free and feels soft and smooth from root to tip.
After drying my hair it still feels really soft and doesn't look dull at all, leaving behind a nice subtle shine which tends to reflect the light. The ends of my hair which can be prone to dryness also feel moisturised and silky. I have a natural curl to my hair which can become frizzy if I don't use the right products and there is no evidence of frizz when I use this shampoo.

For hair that feels soft and moisturised without feeling heavy, I can recommend this shampoo and having used it for a while, it has became one of my favourites. I prefer this light formula rather than the Pearl Protein formula as this seems just right for my hair type. After trying and being left disappointed by other shampoos by L'Oreal, I can happily state that this one is just right for me and has became one I will be buying regularly from now on.

Summary: A lovely-smelling shampoo which gives good results and is now one of my favourites.
