I was quite interested in how the royal jelly might affect the condition of my hair but after reading the ingredients I noticed that the 'jelly extract' is listed second last in a list that is written in order of quantity. This made me doubt it's potency somewhat. The product comes in either a 250ml or 400ml sized bottle. It is distinguished from other Elvive products by it's white and yellow design. The bottle has an easy to use flip lid (no problems even with wet ...more

Premium Review L'Oreal Elvive Re-nutrition Shampoo: If it's good enough for bees... (686 words)
by - written on 09/07/09 (Very useful, 203 readings)
Rating:

I had been using Loreal's Elvive Colour Protect range with good results until on a recent shop the store was out of stock. The closest replacement I could find was this 'Re-Nutrition Nourishing' shampoo from the same brand. It is aimed at people with dry or thirsty hair and promises to 'intensely nourish and replenish elasticity' to restore your hair to a 'bouncy, silky' state. My particular hair type is very dry, coloured and bleached and naturally wavy which tends to make it a bit coarse and/or flyaway. I always seek out moisture giving shampoos and conditioners and those with specific claims about making over-processed or chemically battered hair into soft ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A Shampoo For Spring- A Little Gem! (667 words)
by - written on 26/03/09 (Very useful, 235 readings)
Rating:

This is actually a bit of a gem! I have tried quite a few of The L'Oreal shampoos with mixed results, but having had a very bad feeling towards the new Herbal Essence ranges being reborn again episode I decided to try and find an alternative to my Aussie friends. I always use Aussie but I like a change every now and then as I think the same make of shampoo every day sometimes makes hair less shiny. In Superdrug I spotted this Elvive Caring Shampoo with Royal Jelly on the stand on promotion, buy one get one free, so I thought for 2 large 400ml bottles for less than £3.50 this was a bargain, and so I picked the matching conditioner as ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review L'Oreal Elvive Re-nutrition Shampoo- beerilliant (342 words)
by - written on 24/03/09 (Very useful, 171 readings)
Rating:

I bought a 400ml bottle of this when it was on special offer in Morrisons- a two for one deal I think- but it normally retails at just under £3.50 depending on where you shop. It is a tall slimline bottle of shampoo for dry or dried out hair that professes to be a 'caring shampoo' with a 'Royal Jelly Revitalising Formula'. Having just spent a week doing a dance show and repeatedly drenching my hair in hairspray each night I thought this was just what my hair needed. Before using this product my hair was very dry and looked really dull and not very silky or shiny at all. However, I used this shampoo in combination with the moisture replenishing conditioner that ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Soft, Silky hair - and cheap too! (434 words)
by - written on 22/10/08 (Very useful, 624 readings)
Rating:

I've tried most of the L'Oreal Elvive range of shampoos and conditioners and had mixed results - finding some to be good, and others (the anti-dandruff one!) to be terrible. When I spotted L'Oreal Re-Nutrition on the shelves in Boots, a new addition to the range, I decided to get a bottle each of the shampoo and conditioner to try out. The shampoo is enriched with Royal Jelly, and whilst I have heard of Royal Jelly being used in skincare, I had never heard of it being used in hair care before. The shampoo comes in a white bottle with yellow and gold writing and a yellow flip top cap. The bottle is the same shape and style as the other L'Oreal ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review L'Oreal Elvive Re-nutrition Shampoo: Good quality product that does the job well (282 words)
by - written on 17/04/09 (Very useful, 161 readings)
Rating:

I bought this shampoo on a buy one get one free deal, so I bought the shampoo and the conditioner to match. I have, over the years tried most brands of shampoo as I have very fine, dry hair that is brittle and breaks easily. This is due largely to over colouring and use of hair straighteners. I found the packaging appealing and claims to re-nourish your hair sounded promising, so I thought I'd give it a try. It comes in a large 400ml bottle with an easy to use flip top lid. My first impressions were that is has a very pleasant smell and lathers up nicely, so you don't need to use a large amount as I usually do as I live in a very hard water area. As I ...  Read the complete review
