I picked this mascara up in Boots before Christmas (2008) for around £7-8 when it first came out. I was sucked in by the adverts and thought I would give it a shot. The packaging is very sleek and smart looking. It is black with gold bold print writing up the side, it looks very smart in your makeup bag. I checked boots.com and the current price is £9.78, so I saved around a pound or so. The mascara is available in both waterproof and non waterproof. I have the former. I have the mascara in black and the adverts promised "up to twelve times more impact". I find this very hard to believe. The wand itself is pretty big and is tapered to the end. ... If you have seen any of my other reviews you will probably have read that when it comes to mascaras I like rich black / brown pigments and plush, thickening formulas. Although I rarely buy any L'Oreal Paris cosmetics when they released a new mascara names "Extra Volume Collagene" it seemed right up my street so I decided to give it a go. It retails for £9.78 for a regular sized, 9ml tube which isn't all that much less than a MAC or other medium / high end mascara. Is it just me or are drugstore prices creeping up daily?! It promises to give 'breathtaking' volume with 12x more impact that your natural lashes. The 'instant impact' brush is two ... Read the complete review

When it comes to make-up I am most definitely a MAC girl (geddit, no my name refers to my computer). Anyway, the only time I venture into other brands is for mascara, as I've often found MAC ones not that great for the extra expense. So when my previous Max Factor mascara had finished I saw the L'Oreal Extra Volume Collagen Mascara, advertised by Eva Longoria - My favourite Desperate Housewife - and I was sucked in (by the offer price). The chunky packaging looks impressive enough, though the wand is a bit short. The first impression of the quality of this product is the thick custard-like "slurp" sound as you extract the wand. I bought this as a special offer on board a recent flight- 2 for £16. It made claims that it would double the volume and length of my lashes while enriching them withthe collagen within the product. The tube itself is quite sleek and handsome looking and the box has a picture of Eva Longoria on it looking as perfect as usual. Well, if I can have her lashes as they are on the box that can't be a bad thing I thought to myself. On opening the product, I was happy to be greeted by a nice, thick, chunky brush. The product is quite thick and stodgy in consistency. I found that as soon as I applied it to my eyelashes, it set rapidly meaning that it went ... Read the complete review
