Advantages: always available, smells great, good value

Disadvantages: has sodium laureth sulphate in it

just wanted to share with you my experience of L?Oreal shampoo 2 in 1 for kids.
I have used the cherry and almond on my children previously and found it worked satisfactory. The cherry almond is for extra conditioning and even my husband uses it!

The watermelon is for thick wavy hair and the smell is amazing. You could almost pour it over a bowl of Walls vanilla ice cream. (though I wouldn?t recommend it!). My boys have a good head of hair and this one works just as well as the cherry almond.

My dad uses the So Strawberry and he has thick white hair, very unruly. It suits him fine but he?s too embarrassed to be seen buying a kids shampoo, so I have to buy it for him!

I cannot comment on the Orange Swim Shampoo, as I have never bought it. I have smelt it and like the others it?s pretty yummy.

The tropical fruit has the strongest of all the aromas and this one seems to sting my boy?s eyes, so it?s not on my regular weekly shop list at Tesco.

The banana melon is perfect for my little girl. Its meant for fine hair and as she doesn?t have much (she is only 1) its perfect
I find the smell lasts on their hair well into the next wash the following day and condition?s the hair very well, leaving no residue.

Boots sell the L?Oreal range at £1.69 and its occasionally on BOGOF as well, so keep an eye out for offers. Tesco sell it for £1.47 at the moment but prices fluctuate.

However, though I would say I do like the range, there is a small hiccup that I want to tell you about.

I have recently bought the APPLE AND CINAMMON. This is a limited edition shampoo I am pleased to add as I will not be buying this again.
I saw it on offer at Tesco and did the smell test (as you do). It was like apple crumble and I had to buy it just for the smell alone.

Little did I know that it was going to affect my children?s skin. After using it, they complained their eyes were stinging. I rinsed them out wi
th clean water and they were fine after that.
During the night my two boys were awake complaining of their head itching. They finally settled down to sleep with a dose of Calpol and a good scratch.

The following morning my boys chest, neck, face and sections of their legs had a rash. Because it was quite thick around the chest and neck I presumed they had both caught chicken pox.

The GP examined them and said it wasn?t the chicken pox but an allergic reaction. He asked if I had changed my washing powder, fabric conditioner etc. The only new thing introduced to their skin was the shampoo. The doctor said to get in touch with the company who manufactured the product and get them to test it.

My boys had to take medication for a week until the rash subsided. They were also given piriton. They didn?t feel unwell with it, just frustrated at being itchy.
I had to confirm to their teacher it wasn?t chicken pox in order for the boys to return to school the following day.

I wasn?t very pleased with this L?Oreal and sent the shampoo away to them with a detailed complaint against their product.

Today I received a reply:

?Further to our recent correspondence, we have received the results from our factory regarding testing of your returned product.
Our quality assurance department has now examined the retainer and have reported all tests conform to the required product specification.
The problem you experienced is unusual and we ask you to accept our apologies for your disappointment and inconvenience caused.
We would like to assure you that all our product formulations are extensively researched and tested to ensure they are suitable for the purpose they have been designed. We have rigorous quality controls at our manufacturing centre to ensure all products adhere to specification.?

I was a bit disappointed with the reply. It was a complete was of time and my postage returning the product. I migh
t as well of just poured it down the toilet !

Based on my experience I will not buy this product again. L?Oreal seem to think all is ok with the apple and cinnamon but regardless of what the letter says my boys skin proved different.

Oh by the way, L?Oreal kids shampoo does clean the toilet pan very well if you run out of toilet duck or bleach. There was a ?deposit? left inside the pan and my cupboards were bare, as I needed a tesco shop big time. I decided to squirt a bit of Cherry Almond on it, flushed it after a while and then it went. The pan was gleaming! Use it to clean your sinks out too, it shines and you get a lovely smell of Cherry.

I wont stop using the L?Oreal range based on this hiccup, just the apple and cinnamon.
I will also be cautious to try out any limited edition shampoos in the future.

I love the cherry one in this range but after the awful customer services you received I'm not sure it's such a good idea to buy it - if it can cause a reaction like that in one child it could cause the same in other kids.

Hmm I love the sound of this but after your sons experience I won't be buying it. Their customer sevice is appalling, they could at least have given you some freebies!
