Advantages: Packaging

Disadvantages: Too sparkly

I buy and own a lot of lipsticks. I often forget which ones I have because I put them away in the drawer when tidying and don't see them again for another couple of months. This is one I rediscovered recently. This was actually recommended for me by a lady working on the L'Oreal stand some time ago. .

The packaging is nice enough. It's a silver tube which twists up gold on the inside. The shade I bought was 901 Rose Platinum. The shade name was done on the end of the tube so that it glitters which was a nice touch. I also noticed that the lipstick smelt quite strongly with a very artificial note about it. I think this is probably one of the more expensive looking lipsticks I own.

The lipstick itself is a mid to bright pink which looks quite nice in the tube and you can see the glitter particles. Sadly it looks better in the tube than worn. For a start I think the pink is too bright though I suppose this is more really the bad suggestion by the sales lady rather than the product itself but I think they have gone way overhead with the glitter aspect. I understand that they are trying to make the lipstick more interesting but instead there is way too much glitter here and it ends up being far too sparkly, for example, you wouldn't really want to wear this to work, and moreover sometimes when I look at it I look like a kid who has been given a box of kid's Barbie makeup for her seventh birthday or something.

It's just not right for me. I think the glitter has been overdone though I suppose it may be suitable as a 'going out lipstick'. I think I will be returning this to the drawer where it probably should have stayed...

I am not sure if L'Oreal still do this range at the chemist any more. I can't say I'd be surprised if it were discontinued. If it is still in the shops I think it would cost roughly £7.99 so I am sure they go cheap on ebay too.

Summary: I wouldn't buy it agiain
