Advantages: Nice colour range

Disadvantages: Not long lasting, pen dries out rapidly, hard to get even distribution

In a childlike, marker style casing, this lip tint consists of a felt pen like tip that is designed to provide a long lasting colour to ones lips. Ever the fan of red lips, I purchased one when on promotion at my local Boots. And honestly, I think I have never been more disappointed with a cosmetic in my life. The adverts ranted and raved about it, giving me high expectations of this product, only to feel rather let down after usage.

The colour selection was quite nice, the shades are very matte, so if you're after a more dimensional finish this isn't the product for you.

The first issue with this pen is the tip, I'm unsure if it was just that I was unlucky, but the tip of mine was far more dry then the sides, making it incredibly difficult to use and get even colour distribution. You'd find that you were using the side of the pen to messily shade your mouth, not quite the ease I expected in using it! Throughout the next few weeks, I noticed the pen overall, had dried out, meaning it would have to be a product you'd have to replace fairly frequently.

Another issue with the pen was that you were unable to use it as a liner, due to the tip being wide and rather dry, it was difficult to utilise. Throughout the day it smudged, dried my lips, and rather than smoothly gliding over them it highlighted and exaggerated flaws, almost caking in the cracks of your lips.

So overall, will not be buying again. Incredibly disappointed. Especially for the price I paid for it. I never thought Max Factor would come up with something so utterly dire...

Summary: You'd be better off borrowing the kid's felt tip pens.
