Introduction

For some unfathomable reason I seem to have, over time, built up a collection of products from the L'Oreal 'Men Expert' range and even though I'm never loyal to a single brand over another I have slowly become quite a fan of the products available. For a few years now I have used L'Oreal's skincare products and before I switched to Shaving Oil I used their Shaving Gel so it was a bit of a no-brainer when I saw the subject of this review available at a special offer recently in ASDA - L'Oreal's Men Expert Deodorant - and at just a pound for a tin I snapped up what I considered a bit of a bargain.

What is it?

Contained in a 150ml tin in the familiar 'men expert' silver and orange colours L'Oreal certainly pack a lot of information and product detail into their packaging, this is a 48 hour non-stop Anti-Perspirant Deodorant according the the tin which is a 'ultra intensive spray' and is hypo-allergenic. It has 'new sweat captor technology' (which sounds delightful) which apparently has been formulated to be ultra absorbent and as it contains 0% alcohol should combat any stinging sensations that can often be felt when using other brands. The directions for use are pretty much standard for any aerosol deodorant and L'Oreal advise that short blast be sprayed into the armpit and then be simply left alone.

In Use

I've been using this deodorant for around three weeks now and have been very impressed with the results it gives, I'm not a particularly sweaty person to be honest but do like to wear a deodorant just to prevent any body odours from developing during the course of a day and using this has certainly kept me feeling fresh and clean. It doesn't sting, irritate or cause any redness to my underarm area and has a neutral fresh fragrance which has no determinable smell, applying straight after coming out of a shower gives me enough protection to last the whole day and there have never been any times when the spray has left a residue or mark on my clothing. Even if I forego a shower and spray just before I'm about to get dressed seems to give the deodorant time to absorb into my skin and again doesn't leave any residue behind to transfer to the clothing that I wear.

Overall Thoughts

In the past I tended to wear body sprays rather than anti-perspirants as I remembered reading a report years ago which warned about the dangers of stopping the human body from doing the natural process of sweating and didn't like the idea of effectively clogging up the pores of my skin. To be honest I still don't like the idea of stopping my body from doing what it was designed to do but am sensible enough to realise that some anti-perspirants are better than others and so long as my skin has the chance to breathe and would presumably let me know if there was a problem with the product (by means of a rash or irritation) then I'm happy to continue using this to keep me feeling fresh and clean.

This would be something that I recommend to anyone looking for a bit of extra protection especially if they are prone to excess sweating or are particularly active and on the go all the time, a liberal spray on a morning should set you up for the day and in my experience of it I have never had anything but excellent results - I don't feel sweaty, I have no body odour and credit should go to L'Oreal for making a product which lives up to its claims.

As already mentioned I have become a fan of the 'men expert' range of products from L'Oreal over time and am happy to have this amongst my collection, at the special offer price of just a pound it gave me the chance to try it out and having done so I would continue to buy this even at full price although at the time of me writing this it is still on offer at ASDA and I have stocked up on a couple of tins to last me a good couple of months. Looking on-line it would appear that its usual price is just over £3.00 which is comparable to similar products from reputable brand names so I definitely did get mine at a bargain price.

In conclusion then the L'Oreal men expert Anti-Perspirant Deodorant gets a perfect five star rating from me and comes highly recommended. Thanks for reading my review, please note that this may also appear on ciao under my username,
