Advantages: lovely result on hair, smells nice

Disadvantages: none really

When I bought the l'oreal elvive nutria-gloss shine shampoo I found that I was very impressed with the results and so when I saw the product on a two for three pounds offer I decided to buy it again and this time purchase the conditioner to go with it as well.

The conditioner is obviously packaged to look like the matching shampoo in the range and so it is housed in a pink plastic container with a lime green lid. Unlike the shampoo which has the lid on the top of the bottle the conditioner actually sits on the lid which is useful I find especially when you are nearing the end of the bottle as you don't need to wait for all of the conditioner to make its way to the bottom of the bottle before you can squeeze some out. The bottle is recyclable when empty and the conditioner should be used within twelve months of opening.

As with the matching shampoo the conditioner is designed for people with mid to long, dull hair which is prone to greasiness. Apparently the longer your hair the more sensitive it is and whilst I am not sure how accurate that claim is I do find that my hair can be a pain and react in different ways to the same product so perhaps there is some truth in that as I do have quite long hair! I don't often use a conditioner as I find as a rule it can make my hair become greasy quicker but after using the shampoo in this range and achieving good results I was looking forward to trying this conditioner especially given that it does say it is suited to hair prone to greasiness.

The conditioner is a pale pink colour and I was pleased to discover it had the same scent as the shampoo. The scent is quite strong and fresh smelling but very girly in my opinion and so layered with the shampoo is quite significant. I'm not sure a man would really want to use this one but to be fair the pink packaging and the fact it is for those with mid to long hair makes it look as though it is aimed at women in particular anyway.

I use a blob of conditioner perhaps double the size of a fifty pence piece each application as my hair is pretty long. I tend to avoid applying it directly to my roots where my hair can be prone to greasiness and so instead I start an inch or so down and work it down to the ends which take a fair amount of punishment given I straighten my hair regularly. I prefer to leave the conditioner in for a minute or two before washing it out and whilst you aren't instructed to do this on the bottle I do think that it works best.

When I wash the conditioner out of my hair I always notice it feels soft and well treated. I usually find that it takes longer to blow dry my hair after using this conditioner for some reason but once it is done and my hair is straightened my hair does feel lovely and soft and has a really nice shine to it. I find after using this conditioner and my hair is styled that my hair is easier to manage in general which is obviously a positive thing. I don't use this product every time I wash my hair as I find it has a negative effect and does start to make my hair greasier but this may well just me my silly hair!

I do like this conditioner and its claim of producing weightless hair with a glossy shine is accurate. The product usually costs £2.79 for 250ml and for the price I do think it is a good offering for those with long hair. It can also sometimes be found on offer so it is certainly worth trying then!

Thank you for reading my review!

Summary: A good product for long hair
