Advantages: Nice matt, even coverage.

Disadvantages: Lies, lies all lies.

I have been wearing foundation, everyday, for at least ten years now. Back from my teenage years spending pocket money on collection 2000 gloop, right up to university, experimenting with anything under a fiver, to now, sampling the more 'elite' community in the foundation world - estee lauder, benefit etc. Through all my travels and experiences, the queen of all qualities I have been searching for in these foundations is make up which actually stays on your face.
I truely don't understand why make up manufacturers find this so hard to acheive? You would think that in this day and age, such a wonder product would actually have been widely available. If it is, i've missed it.
So when I saw the L'orela Inafflible advert on television, promising to 'fight the signs of make up meltdown' I knew i just had to have it.
I had high hopes for this.. L'oreal is not a brand i personally have had a great deal to do with for one reason or another, but they are a reputable, high street make up brand who have produced a wide range of make up products - including a huge range of foundations, varying from the anti - aging, to the 'so called' infallible.
I bought this product at my local Brighton boots for £10.49, but I have seen it online lately for around £9.00, and I am told it can even be found for as little as £7.50.
The packagaing is professional: It copmes in a glass pump action bottle and the design is sharp and attractive. The pump action feature is effective - I have had no problems with air bubbles or the like, and it's relatively easy to control the amount of make up coming out by the amount of pressure you use on the pump. Around two pumps is perfect for me, so it works well in that sense.
The consistency of the foundation is as I would wish - not too runny, nor too thick - just right for the type of heavy(ish) coverage I desire. It so not greasy at all, by feels quite moistorising.
On application, it provides heavy coverage and does well in covering up blemishes and iomperfections - the colour I chose (and was recommended) - Golden Beige - is far too orangy for my skin, and I would certainly not be choosing this hue again - although, I think this says more about the lady at the counter who matched it for me as I now think 'porcelein' would have suited me much better. The foundation only comes in 9 different shades, which is ok, but you won't find you're true match here - the colour does not adapt to you skin tone when applied.
The foundation itself provides an even coverage with a matt finish, blending well, and when I first put the make up on, despite the slight descrepency in shade, I was pleased with the reults.
Not so when i double checked my make up on my lunch break.
Infallible? Not so. It certainly does not provide coverage over blemishes etc 'all day' as it claims, as by lunch i already needed to touch it up, and it had really gone quite patchy where it had dissolved in some places (particularly over blemishes and imperfections) but in others had stood firm, making me look really quite odd.
It REALLY irritates me when companies make claims like this which are blatant lies, and I don't understand why L'oreal made such a big deal of the 16 hour thing when it is clearly a joke - I have had foundations which make no such claims stay put for far longer. As a result I have been left most displeased by this product, and will certainly not be buying again.

Summary: Would never buy this product again.

I'm still searching for my perfect foundation (I may be forever!) But the best I have ever used is Estee Lauder double wear (see my review! Lol) Pricey unfortunately, but very worth it.... xxx
