Long lashes don't come easy... (L'Oréal Perfection Longitude Mascara)

Advantages: doesn't smudge easily, feels nice when you put it on

Disadvantages: doesn't lengthen or separate lashes much, expensive for what it is, disappointing

This is a relatively new product by L'Oreal and when I first saw it advertised I got really excited. 'Yes! Spider's legs eyelashes at last!' I thought and ran out to buy it believing I'd look like Madonna in no time (mind you - I need more than my lashes changing to do that, but that's another story....)

This mascara is supposed to do 2 things, 1) Lengthen your eyelashes more than any other mascara. This is apparently due to a 'special ingredient' L'oreal call 'Extensil'. and 2) it is supposed to separate and define your lashes. This is because it comes with a special brush with loads more little bristles on it than your average brush.

To be honest it doesn't do either for me. I get the same definition from a 50p mascara I bought down the market. And it lengthens my lashes no more than the 50p job too.

Added to this is its tendency to clump so I'm forever wiping away little blobs..

On the plus side it glides on very nicely. Also - and this is a big plus in my book, it doesn't smudge easily, so you don't walk around looking like a panda if you accidently rub your eyes.

Having said this, it doesn't do what it claims to do, and there are much cheaper products out there that do the same. So I'll keep on looking for those spider legs...
