Advantages: Very smooth feeling legs!

Disadvantages: No coverage guide, Strong orange tint, Unpredictable with scars

I am of German descent, and so am extremely pale, with fair hair and eyes. Basically, my darkest "tan" ever acheived naturally was actually "peach".

I had read numerous good reviews from people who have had great success with this product. I used the Loreal Sublime Bronze Gelee formula in the Medium/Dark. In the past, I have always been pleased with the quality and results I acheive with their other products (especially their hair dye!)

I am going to be going to the beach this weekend, so thought I would try to make myself look less like I come from Siberia and more like the desert dweller I am (I'm an American from Phoenix, AZ). People from "The Valley of the Sun" shouldn't be whiter than Casper the Ghost!

After shaving my legs and thoroughly exfoliating my knees, feet, and toes with a body scrub, I smoothed the gel over both legs, being careful to apply between toes, and go light on heels, ankles, and knees. With no tint to guide me, I actually missed a few spots. I also somehow managed to overapply on one side of my right calf, despite rubbing for a good 5 or more minutes on each leg.

I allowed 20 minutes for it to dry, and it was still tacky. I continued to rub. (This may have been a mistake). Another mistake I made was getting up to go wash it off my hands, as it made a crease on the backs of my legs and a darker patch where my calf met my lower thigh when I bent my knees to stand up.

The next morning, I awoke to orange, streaky legs, and feet that were tan(gerine) on the tops, but pale on the toes (save my right great toe). So much for wearing skirts and sandals this weekend.

Another problem I noted, just as the other poster, was that it settled into small creases and pores to create the appearance of blackheads (especially on my toes and around my knees). It also reacted very oddly with my scars; about 1/2 didn't take any of the gel, the rest took
too much.

One good thing I can say about it is that having never used an AHA product before, I had no idea how incredibly smooth it would make my skin feel. I will be looking for an AHA body lotion for my legs from now on!

Overall, I am not happy with my results, and I definitely do not recommend this product for anyone who does not tan naturally. Just go embrace your paleness and use it to get out of yardwork!

I'm very pale too. Orange and white just isn't a good look, is it?
