Advantages: works wonders on split ends

Disadvantages: Only seen for sale in salons

I have naturally curly red hair that's quite long. When I was growing up there was no ceramic hair straightners on the market so the only choice in hair style I had was curly or wavy never poker straight. I was therefore delighted when my hairdresser used a pair of GHD hair straightners on my hair when they were first available and was amazed at the results( and how long my hair was straight) I quickly brought a pair and some spritz to protect my locks from heat damage. However curly hair I discovered can hide a multitude on sins included split ends or a bad hair cut! When straight the condition of my hair needs to be good or I don't have the confidence to wear down and just scrap it into a pony tail. Hence where this shampoo comes in. Again recommended by my hairdressers, yes I am a sucker for buying products from salons! But this along with the matching condition were duly purchased and used when I want to have my hair straight. My hairdresser said if I use when I style my hair curly to use slightly less of the products so it doesn't weigh my curls down.

The bottle is a pretty lilac colour holding 250 ml and doesn't take up much room on the side of my bath. The matching conditioner comes in a pot so I sit the shampoo on top. The grey cap is easy to open with the side of my thumb, I hate the caps that break your finger nails to open them so am pleased with this. Closes firmly so can be knocked over without any spillage. You can't take the cap off though so if you accidentally squeeze to much out you can't put in back very easily. Also as good quality you don't need to use much, as I have long hair I use approx 10 p size. Smells very nice, a little bit flowery, not very strong so if you don't like it you won't reek of it all day. The back describes it as a smoothing shampoo for unmanageable hair, to provide control and nourishment. Directions for use are same as a normal shampoo: wet hair, distribute evenly , rinse, and repeat if necessary. I have never felt the need to shampoo twice as this leaves my hair squeaky clean first time. The result is that my split ends are smoothed down and my hairs looks in shinny good condition.

I paid £8 for the shampoo and slightly more for the conditioner. This may sound a lot compared to other makes you can buy in Boots etc but it isn't L'Oreal's most expensive range! As you only need a small amount it does last me quite awhile.
I have only seen it to buy in salons which is a downside as if I run out before I'm due a hair cut I have to make a special journey to my salon that is not near where I live.

Verdict: Good for straight hair especially if like me you have split ends but only use a small amount.

Summary: Great for straight hair
