Advantages: Removes grime and last traces of make up
Disadvantages: A tad astringent
L'Oreal Pore Tightening astringent
I needed some new toner and because I have been using some of the L'Oreal Pure Zone products, this seemed like a good choice.
It promises to remove the last traces of make up, dirt and oil without drying out the skin. It is also oil free and is a break out/ acne treatment which makes me think that it may be quite drying for the skin especially when I read on the back that it's for the treatment for acne.
PRODUCT AND PACKAGING
The product comes in a 200ml plastic bottle with a white flip top lid. The toner itself looks blue through the clear plastic bottle but when applied, it's clear. Whe I have a sniff, it has a very slight astringent smell but nothing too overpowering or medicinal.
When i pour it onto cotton wool, it comes out as a clear liquid and thankfully doesn't come out too quickly, but rather the bottle needs a bit of a squeeze.
USING IT
The Product should be applied to cleansed skin using cotton wool. It is suggested that due to possible drying effects (strange when the front of the bottle states that it is non drying for skin), it should be used once a day to start with and then increased to two or three times a day. There is a warning with the directions for use that if excessive drying occurs then you should stop using the product.

VERDICT
The product is easy to apply and does remove all traces of grime and make up. For me it did have a slight drying effect but nothing too excessive although I wouldn't like to be using it more than once a day. When I had applied it, my skin felt tight and thoroughly cleansed although i found that I had to apply a different moisturiser to the pure zone stuff- that would have dried me out completely!
I think it's more suitable for oily skin than for skin like mine which is normal, so i gave it to my teenage son who proclaimed it a winner!
For anyone with oily skin or break outs I would recommend this along with the other products in the range, although for more "elderly" skin, a more gentle toner is probably a better bet
Thanks for reading and all the best for 2009
