Advantages: Cheap alternative to salon treatments

Disadvantages: Might be too harsh on sensitive skin

Dermabrasion is the process of removing the top layer of skin to reveal the fresh, younger skin underneath. Previously only available in salons in a hideous procedure which leaves the person with a scabby face for weeks, the cosmetic industry have cottoned on and brought out these home kits so that people can carry out a gentler (and cheaper) alternative at home.

This L'Oreal kit is cheap at £14.99 and it does a fairly good job, I'd say. It consists of 2 bottles - an exfoliator plus a finishing moisturiser. You scrub with the exfoliator which feels a little like crushes glass in consistancy, it doesn't hurt as such but you have to be careful and not stay in one place too long as I can imagine it could damage your skin if used like this. You then rinse and use the moisturiser to finish.

My skin is left feeling very smooth after I use this and I have no complaints really, it is a good treatment to do alongside your normal routine and worth the money.

Summary: A good alternative to salon treatments which leaves skin very smooth and soft
