Advantages: A great product!

Disadvantages: Lift is mentioned in its name?

As I have gotten older I have started to really understand the importance of a good make up removing routine. At 36 (almost 37 now...sigh lol) I have what I can only describe as combination skin. I still get spots, a vast amount of white heads and I really do suffer with enlarged pores and an abundance of blackheads that are just so annoying! Add to that I am also getting the signs of aging too, well in reality that have been happening some time now lol. Yep my frown lines and laughter lines are getting deeper and wrinkles are trying really hard to be seen.

Now for years now I have bought separate cleansers and toners and although not bought what I consider to be cheap and nasty stuff I have always watched the pennies and bought cheaply or stuff that was on offer at the time. This time though I decided to buy what I believed suitable for my skin and although still watching my pennies was prepared to spend a decent amount on investing in the right thing.

Toner I not only use after removing make-up with cleanser, you see I always feel the need to wipe over my face with the stuff after bathing or showering and I use it regularly too when I've been outside just to refresh my skin with. This I spotted costing £4.00 (ish) in my local Asda store and knowing that I was about to run out of my usual one I decided to have a bash with it!

The Packaging:

The bottle is plastic and see-through with grey, white, gold, black and red writing all over it and it has a flip-top white plastic lid concealing a small hole to the top of it gripped onto the bottle with a dark red plastic section. On the front of the bottle we are told that it is L'Oreal Dermo-Expertise 'New' Vitalift Rejuvenating Cleansing Smoothing Toner 'Fibre-Elastly +Vitamin C' and that it has a revitalising action. On the back of the bottler other information listed includes being told a bit about the product and what to expect from it, we are told how to use it and the ingredients within it are listed, the size is stated (which is 200ml and by the way the only size that I am aware that we are available to purchase it in), we are told that once opened to use the product up within 12 months and contact details for L'Oreal Paris are given. This is a nice, simple and very informative looking bottle. It lists all the information we need on the bottle very nicely indeed and is easy to understand and looks a mature design rather than being pretty or girly or anything like that.

A Bit About The product According To The Information Listed On The Back Of The Bottle:

With age, the skin's regeneration processes start to slow down, wrinkles appear, the skin is less firm and its complexion dulls. Now you can cleanse and revitalise your skin to help combat these signs of aging.

Developed to maximise the effects of your anti-wrinkle skincare programme:

Cleanse and eliminate impurities to prepare your skin for you moisturiser.
Compliment your skincare programme with a cleanser enriched with active ingredients.

The L'oreal laboratories have created New Vitalift Smoothing Toner. Enriched with Fibre-Elastyl and Vitamin C, it works on the upper layers of the epidermis, to revitalise the skin. Rich and fresh, this toner leaves the skin feeling perfectly cleansed.

Using It:

In the bottle this looks an sort of very light transparent peachy colour though to use it you simply squirt a little onto cotton wool and you can see no colour at all and it has a wonderful none distinctive scent of fresh clean flowers to it which is rather sweet!

A little of this on some cotton wool goes a very long way indeed as it is like a watery liquid of course being a toner and all you do is wipe it over a face gently. Now the only complaint I have about this is that the information given on the back of the bottle isn't clear to what this really is. Its called a cleansing toner so does that mean we should use it after a cleanser and that this simply has a slight extra cleansing effect to it as an added bonus or is it in fact a cleanser and toner together . Well I assume it isn't that because it isn't referred to as a 2 in 1.

I use this after a cleanser, on its own and to remove very light daytime make-up (nothing waterproof). It feels a little greasy when in use though to be fair to it not overly so or anything and it picks up impurities, dirt, grease and grime with total ease leaving my face feeling not only none sticky after using it but very clean and with a nice fragrance left lingering for a good hour.

I have used this as a cleanser and toner in one and although I was pleased it did work being a watery like substance I did get in a bit of mess so really in my opinion use this as a toner only!

This leaves me feeling refreshed, grot free and scented clean and I am really pleased with it. After using this my large pores appeared diminished slightly, my face feels comfortable and refreshed and my skin feels really smooth.

Does It Help With The Sign Of Aging Though?:

Not really sure about that claim if I'm honest with you. I mean I have been using this every day for the past month (sometimes more than once a day) and I can't say I have any wrinkles and signs of ageing appearing more than usual but then maybe I wouldn't have done this month! All I can say is that I feel more radiant for using this and I have had no adverse reactions to it all. Vit'lift' in a toner? Not really but it is a great way of cleaning the face for sure and a mild formulation to boot and so comes with a big shout out from me!

Available in all good chemists and supermarkets etc.

Summary: A nice, everyday and well worth the money toner from L'Oreal this really is!
