Advantages: The round head makes all the difference to application.

Disadvantages: The packaging!

My usual mascara is Clinique, but when I saw this mascara on special offer in Boots for £6.80 I had to give it a try. I have to admit I was influenced by the lovely Penelope Cruz on the advert !

My initial problem was the packaging. I need to know whether I am buying a waterproof mascara or not (I have to be able to remove it quickly at night). The packaging had loads and loads of information and diagrams about the 'revolutionary' flexi-globe brush, and the 'spectacular results' but there was very little practical information on the packet. I looked at the L'Oreal website for help, but it did not have the information.

Having bought the mascara, I then battled my way inside. Bring a hacksaw! My nail scissors took over 5 minutes to get to the wand.

Once inside, I found the wand design stylish and substantial. I like a big wand as it makes it easier to handle. I absolutely loved the little round brush! Much like the smallest head on an electric toothbrush gets to those hard-to-reach back teeth, it found its way into the corners of my eye and lengthened lashes that had not been reached for years.

The advert claims that the 'supple elastomer bristles' make your eyelashes look up to 50% longer. I think the 'up to' is the crucial part of this sentence. I did like the round flexible brush. I did like the way it reached all of my eyelashes. I did think my lashes looked longer than they looked with Clinique. They did not look anywhere near 50% longer. Surely that would make me look like a freak?

I was happy with the coverage and I think that the brush and mascara gave a very dramatic effect. It was noticable different from my usual Clinique mascara and I would definately buy it again.

PS. It is not waterproof.

Summary: A good buy which nearly lives up to all of it's claims

Loreal actually stole this idea from Givenchy with their phenomen'eyes mascara, (there are reviews on here for it) and having looked at both the Givenchy one is far better. check it out!

The shape fasinates me.

I haven't experienced it smudging yet - I plan to test it out on Saturday by watching 'Marley and Me' (the laugh and cry test!). How long does it last in the tube? Can't tell you yet, I have only just bought it...
