Advantages: flawless coverage, light, feels & looks like you arent wearing foundation
Disadvantages: SOme people might say the price - but its £8.99 - Id say thats reasonable for what you are getting!
I tend not to wear foundation, as during most months I use the dry mist tan spray that I've also reviewed on here! This gives me enough coverage and a foundation is then obviously not needed.
However, now that winter is drawing in, I am feeling less and less inclined to spend my time spraying my body and face and keeping it up, and needed an alternative - usually this comes in the form of tinted moisturiser but rooting through my goodies it appears I have none left! I did however come across a bottle of this true match foundation in the depths of my beauty bags.
For the life of me I have no idea when I bought it or for what purpose - my staples are mascara and liquid eyeliner if anything - but a couple of weeks ago I thought I would use it and see if it was any good!
Packaging & Claims
**************
The packaging is fairly standard for the foundation bottles I've seen. It is compact at 30ml, clear so that you can see the shade, a pump with a lid covering it. True match foundation is supposed to adjust to the colour and texture of your skin so I'm interested to see if it does this, sounds pretty far fetched so far I hear you say!
Application
*********
My shade is sable/sand, and when I pull it out of my make up box it doesn't look like it will match my skin tone at all and once again im at a loss as to why I bought it in the first place, it looks too light but then that's probably because I often view my skin under a fake tan!
The pump is extremely handy - there is no waste at all with this product as you can pump out the teeniest of amounts on to your finger so as to not overload your face or waste the product. Obviously the foundation comes out the right shade - no surprises due to the clear bottle! it's a great consistency too, not too watery and far from thick (do I sound like goldilocks testing out the bears porrdige??! Feels like it - this was juuuust right!!) It goes on to the skin smoothly and is easily blended plus a little goes far.
Results
******
I'm very very surprised. A product which appears to actually live up to its claims!
This foundation has covered my face evenly and has given it a smooth texture.
It looks natural, and I have a kind of dewy, fresh look to my skin. Going to the bathroom after lunch on the first day of wearing it, I'm pleased to see that my foundation looks intact still and hasn't worn off as I expected it would, I still have a lovely even colour to my skin and its making my skin look flawless!
I don't, however, suffer with spots or oily skin, I'd describe my skin tone as normal so I couldn't vouch that with an oily/dry/combination skin tone it would have the same effect.
I am extremely pleased with the results, I felt like I am not wearing any foundation at all and it looks like it too. The main reason I don't like wearing foundation is because I think of that caked on, feeling and the fact that a lot of foundations I see on other people sometimes look thick and unnatural (not to mention the wrong shade!) None of these issues are the case with this product.
Im massively impressed with this as a whole and I would buy again (to see me through the winter months)
A final note - I've used this for a two weeks now, and although I've been good and removed my makeup every night as Im not used to having anything on my face to take off except for blusher or bronzer sometimes, it hasn't had any adverse effects on my skin - I have had no breakouts, redness etc, I dont know if that happens with foundations generally, but thought Id mention that there appears to be no issues like that with this one!
My skin is still clear and the make up is easy to take off. This is a brilliant foundation and I would thoroughly recommend it.
Im not sure how much you can get it for In Boots or anywhere else for that matter, but at the moment its price in Superdrug is £8.99.
Thanks for reading! xxxxx
Summary: A true match for me!
