Advantages: Gives good coverage. Not a heavy powder.
Disadvantages: Doesn't really do what it says. A little expensive. Shades don't quite match the skin.
What is it?
********
A compact powder set by L'Oreal.
Special Features?
*************
This claims to be a super blendable powder that 'perfectly' adjusts to the colour and texture of your skin. It mattifies, evens skin-tone and hides imperfections.
Does it really work?
****************
Well, I nearly thought so, but then I realised that the final effect doesn't really blend with your skin, it just appears to. Rather, I think this powder blends within itself, so applying enough of it is quite important.
I think L'Oreal offers about five or six different shades in this range. My skin is quite pale, though still slightly tanned, so logically only the lightest shades would suit me.
I have only ever tried the first two lightest shades, never trying beyond with the others. There is simply no point, too dark a tone for my skin and having already tried the second lightest shade - and already I look as if I have a deep orangy sun tan. I had wondered what effect the others would have on me. ;).
Anyway, back to why I feel this powder doesn't quite do what it claims. The lightest shade of the range is actually too light for my skin tone - I usually end up looking like one of the Cullens from Twilight, but unfortunately, it's either this or to look as if I've painted myself orange for a good reason.
With this in mind, obviously the powder doesn't 'adjust to the colour and texture' of my skin. Therefore, I need to make sure that I apply the powder in all areas necessary, otherwise I end up looking quite patchy, half done face, unfinished make-up scenario etc...
It appears to adjust to the texture of my skin - if and when I apply enough of the powder. I think it's more to do with coverage. The powder does provide quite a fair amount of coverage and after reapplying a few times it doesn't give a thick cake effect - though this is still possible if you try to over do it.
Though it doesn't really do what it claims, the powder does give good coverage and isn't too heavy. It sets my make-up well, i.e. doesn't smudge to the touch and close up, I can usually see tiny shimmery particles.
Cost?
****
The powder comes in a small compact case - duel sided flip case, with mirror and sponge on one side and the powder in the other. It costs £6.99, which I thought was a little expensive at first, but with all it's claims, I thought it was going to be worth it. But obviously, not so good value upon realisation.
However, I've been using this for a good couple of years now and it's one that I'm used to and works best with my make-up. To be fair, it's quite a good quality powder and I generally have no problems with it, allergies, make-up disasters etc.... except for looking like a possible vampire!
Thanks for reading. :) xx
