The most appealling thing that first drew me to living in Bexhill was the sense of community that is apparent there. Despite its image by outsiders as being a graveyard from the ground up (Spike milligan), there is a genuine pride in being a Bexhillian, and this is something that the Bexhill Observer conveys brilliantly. There is something slightly bizarre about local papers. Like regional TV news, the items always seem such small fry in comparison to the national news, and yet there is an innate sense of seriousness and levity to the local stories.
