I fisrt met Stuart slade,,tragically killed in August of last year.I had just returned from India and was in a rooming house ,terminally ill and waiting for my house to become vacant.it was a terrible time for me.he was pretty lost too,sofa surfing and so on until he got his place in the ymca.He weas unbelievably kind to me.We were both lost and broke and spent a lot of time together.i know he desperately missed seeing his son-he argued with his partner on the pevious Christmas day.He went to stay with his mother and when he returned I was back in my house where he frequently stayed.Although he was falling apart himself he tried to do basic things for me,often failing because he was becoming psycologically ill.He seemed to have some friends who werent the right sort for the kind man id known but I hadnt really known him for long.he came to my tribunal with me to sort out my housing costs.He often stayed in my house as my registered care.Before his mental deterioration began around a month before his death he was a prince.i was a vulnerable person and he never abused that as others had done when I came home-home?this country treats the diadvantaged like rubbish.The night before he was killed he stayed at my house as he was sober and I always let him in when he was.He went to bed,and in the morning he said he was cold and so I cuddled him and we both fell to sleep.i didnt want him to go out that day,but unfortunately he decided to as we had no money for christmas.I was worried when he left.He was mentally and Physically ill.the next day proved to be one of the worst days Ive known.A light had gone out,too soon extinguished.Stuarts deeath really could have been pevented if mental heath care wasnt so appalling in this falling empire of ours.Good night sweet prince and flights of angels sing the to thy rest.sian
