Advantages: local news for local people
Disadvantages: none
I buy the Dewsbury Reporter every week at 45p from my local corner shop.
*news*
The paper has a lot of up to date news in the local and surrounding areas (Heckmondwike, Cleckheaton, Batley). This includes news of local politics, schools, special events, charity fundraising and local issues. I enjoy reading news which is relevant to me in my area and there is always some thing different to read.
*jobs*
The paper lists the local jobs available near the end of the paper, i find there are always a range of jobs advertised from manager roles, to supermarket jobs.
*Sport*
There is always PLENTY of sports news in the paper to read, including cricket, bowling, football, judo and rugby. Plenty of photos and local stories of the teams and clubs in the area.
*features*
These include reader holidays, always a great spot to help plan a holiday or get an idea of prices at the moment. Lots of day trips available too, to visit towns, the coast, theatre or theme parks!
letters to the editor - i really enjoy reading these as i love readin about people having a good old moan! they print a selection of these, which are always intersting to read!
Events - the paper is very good at listing the local events, such as galas, charity events and open days, as well as church services.
*over all opinion*
I always buy this paper, which i read from cover to cover. It is always intersting to read about what is going on in the area around us and how we can be involved in the local community. A great read and a bargin for 45p!
Summary: a great paper with a range of topics for locals!
