Disadvantages: one page for world news but thats what national papers are for

The Leicester Mercury is the local and regional news paper for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. It covers all areas of news including letters from the public and local events. Every week day the leicester Mercury has a dedicated section of the paper this includes for example monday: find a property ans Wednesday: jobs section.

The back pages are covered by the sport section monday to saturday which has all the coverage from the weeks sporting action.

The paper also has a classifieds section for people selling stuff and wanting stuff. this part of the paper also has deaths, weddings, memoirs, birthdays, and births notices from the public.

There is one page dedicated to news outside of leicestershire to cover the UK and the rest of the world and a page dedicated to leicester history.

The paper also runs the website www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk where all the latest news updates can be found. It also has all the jobs pages, property pages and car pages on the site. It also has traffic and travel news on the site.

This paper is excellent if you are new to leicester or even if you have lived in leicester all of your life.
