Advantages: Local news, many editions

Disadvantages: news content cannotbe trusted

The Liverpool Echo has long been called 'The Liverpool Liar'. Originally it was due to the frequent errors within the paper (typing errors, spelling mistakes and so on) but now it is more fitting to call it this over the poor quality and inaccuracy of the journalism.

One example of the very poor level of journalism was when the passport crises was at it's height. Reporters from the Liverpool Echo were actually paying people to stand in single file to make the queues look much longer than they really were.

Often, it is reported elsewhere that thepaper is guilty of distorting the news as the editors and/or staff were working to their own agendas instead of reporting the news in an impartial way. This will effect the credability of other stories. What else have they exagurated in the past? Whilst they have supported many important campaigns in the past, I can no longer trust this paper.

That aside, the sports coverage is good and naturally 'sticks up' for local teams and the coverage is more comprehensive than many national papers.

I've only rated this "somewhat useful", as you don't impart much knowledge about the newspaper, and in just over a hundred words you appear to be very economical with this subject, it's more of a comment really, instead of a review of the newspaper.
