      Advantages

      Disadvantages

a local paper with local news and gossip

Local News with the odd interesting bit!!

The Newark advertiser is the local paper that is based for Newark (on trent) readers. It has all the usual bits that appear in local papers,Births,Marriages and Deaths ....which for some reason we all seem to read and see if we can spot a name we recognise!Human curiosity or downright nosyness??!!lol. It has a pretty large section on items for sale normally too, unlike most of the paper this doesnt seem to be available to view online so if you want a bargain you will just have to pay out the 50 odd pence!
Newark is a reasonably small town so as you can imagine a reasonable amount of the paper is clutter of no interest to..well anyone really, unless you're intending to buy a car in which case it has as many local car adds as an add mag!!However there are the odd bits of news and always plenty of pictures!
It does have a couple of interesting sections though.....the readers letters can make for an interesting read and on a couple of occasions a feud has started up from these! There are a couple of pages on the *old days* of Newarks history, these often include old local news and stories broke down into 5o years ago and 100 years ago catagories.Again these often have photo's so you never know who you will see on there...your gran,mum,grandad....all in the prime of the youth!!
I guess for the price of the paper its not too bad, after all...a chocky bar costs as much! But if its a quick browse you want or just a look at the headlines then go to their website and view them on there! Also has local weather and database of previous BMD's on there too aswell as being able to place adds etc.I guess if you're traditional you will buy the paper but if you're broke, want to save the paper to save the world(see how you can put a positive spin on either knicking someone elses copy and not buying your own or just being too tight to pay??!!) then view it online, the difference isnt huge and it will save you the money!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Don't buy read it on the web. Why you may ask? The Newark Advertiser is a locally publisher newspaper for Newark on Trent in Nottinghamshire. It is full of news and reviews from the town and can keep you up to date on what?s happening. It has the usual Birth's, Death's and Marriages which you would also find in most good local rags which for some reason we all read even if we don't know someone has died or not. The letters section is always the best as it give the views of current events from the local people on local issues which you may have missed. With it being online it now gets many e-mails from ex Newark people that live worldwide so it helps to keep in touch that way as well. The draw back is that it is full of car, house adverts and other dross like that. Read it on line and miss all the adverts plus being online if you are away you still can read it wherever you are in the world. You?ll find it at www.newarkadvertiser.co.uk
