(Sheffield) Star, the

We used to get the Sheffield star quite often in the past however we hardly ever get it now unless there is something specific we want that's in the paper. The price of the paper over the years has steadily been creeping up while the quality has gone down. The paper carries hardly any new stories and often gets little bits of information wrong. The paper nowadays also seems a lot thinner than it used too. The Sheffield Star is published by Sheffield Newspapers Ltd, which also publishes The Star Green 'Un ( sport results) & the Sheffield Weekly Gazette (free distribution each week) and Yorkshire Jobs & Careers (each Saturday). the Sheffield Star , when I was younger was the paper to read when you got home from work, full of the latest news stories and classified adverts ( great bargains) and the sport results, plus what was going on in and around Sheffield that week. Unfortunatley, it seems to have lost its way somewhat over the past years, and has ( in my opinion) lost alot of its quality.
