Maxim:
... is yet another men s magazine with attitude. Still a relative youngster at around 6 years compared to its supposedly more mature peers such as "GQ", "FHM" and of course "Arena" (see earlier review for this mag), Maxim started life trying to be different from the crowd, but after reading the first few issues I had to say that it was just another clone of all the other mens mags wher... The Racing Post ... an employee in the bookmaking industry I often read the Racing Post and for Horse Racing and Football information there is no better newspaper around. Whether you just have a passing interest in the sports or if you like to bet on these sports the Racing Post has enough content and appeal to cater for both needs. For Horse Racing each horse is analysed in great deal in terms of form and ability, which makes picking a winner easier. The information is also easy to read and experts in the area also give their tips so there is plenty of scope to pick a winning horse. For the football there is plenty of information regarding form, injuries and suspensions so you get the lo... Read the full review: A Bookie's Perspective by matt4B |

Terrorizer ... its moniker from a US grindcore/death metal band of the same name, Terrorizer magazine is an extreme metal music mag that has been doing the rounds since 1993. For most of this time it has been an excellent read, doing a great job of covering the various subgenres of metal including death metal, black metal, grindcore, doom, thrash, industrial, and even power electronics and noise, with a motto of "Extreme music: No Boundaries" whilst at the same time leaving nu metal and to a large extent metalcore to lesser magazines with younger demographics such as Metal Hammer. Unfortunately the magazine has seen something of a sharp decline of late, which is perha... Read the full review: A once great metal mag that has suffered a sharp decline by Burning_Darkness |

Metal Hammer ... like Kerrang magazine, Metal Hammer began its life as an endearing and reliable rock/metal music magazine, albeit one that was monthly rather than fortnightly as is the case with Kerrang, but as with Kerrang it underwent a dramatic format change in the late 90s whereby it largely abandoned its older audience in favour of a newer, younger demographic in the form of the up-and-coming wave of new fans cultivated by the emergence of nu metal and metalcore. To be fair to the magazine it does still feature older bands such as Judas Priest and Iron Maiden alongside modern-day pretenders such as Trivium, Slipknot and Linkin Park, and it even features a subterranean sectio...
