'B reckless' says the front cover - along side 'What he really thinks of your body' and 'Find your perfect pink' – ooh - really wild and reckless *that* sounds! One free trial issue and I am strengthened in my resolve to avoid wasting my money on 'women's magazines'. B follows the usual recipe for ‘grown up’ women’s magazines as far as I can see. Take one serious social issue, add a dose of celebrity gossip, and hefty slug of fashion, beauty, and make up. Stir in some relationship advice, and couple of pages of beach-oriented travel writing. Marinade with a ‘culture’ section – if you ... Read the complete review

B is a fashion and lifestyle magazine aimed at a wide audience. I'm not sure what age its aimed at, but considering some of the articles, I would say 16 upwards. B is divided into five sections. People: This section mainly focuses on celebrites, such as what all the celebrities are wearing, apparently at the moment it is belts. How to look like your favourite celebrity. There is a gossip section, which tells you which star how made fools of themselves, eg: unladylike poses, drunk as a skunk, and which stars are looking hot. This section also has interviews with celebrities, this months interview was with Anastacia, which was quite a ... Read the complete review

B is a glossy magazine aimed at young women. It is of a high quality and has some excellent articles. So what is actually in the magazine? Well, it starts with a letter from the editor, talking a bit about stuff happening in the world and whats in the magazine. The People section of this magazine is divided into sub-sections: People trends - all about current fashion, trends and styles that any person can adapt to - not just some of these catwalk styles that you would only see in London fashion week! People Star Style - Celebrities styles adapted for the everyday person and where you can get similar items on the high street. People Looks ... Read the complete review

I am a women's magazine junkie. I have subscriptions to both Cosmopolitan and Company magazines and then pretty much buy every other women's mag as and when they come out. B Magazine first came out a few years ago and it impressed me from the start as it was a magazine aimed with twenty something in mind. It didn't have the masses of advertisements like the real women's glossies like Cosmo, Marie Claire, Company and Vogue, yet it remained quite thick and packed full of great features and regulars. It also had a much fresher feel to it than some of the other ones and kept my interest from the front cover right to the back page. B currently costs £2.50 to ... Read the complete review

I have to admit to realising very quickly that I'm out of the age bracket this mag aims at....the question "do you sometimes wonder what it will be like to turn 30?" is a bit of a dead giveaway! Having said that, it was quite a tolerable read, and if I had been one of the Young and Beautiful with little to think about other than sex, fashion and a good night out, then it might be a mag I'd consider buying again. Actually, although B is definitely not aimed at the 30 something woman, and I did feel a little old for it, I liked the way it was put together and there were even a couple of fairly readable articles. One which stood ... Read the complete review

Bristol Evening Post
The Evening Post often lends its weight to local causes, has a carefully targeted distribution policy that sees each reader getting the news most relevant to them, whilst still covering the news at a national level, and runs regular supplements.
The paper can be a little over-dramatic, and is apt to go beyond providing the news by suggesting what the reader should think of it too. It also had the carelessness to let Jeremy Smith go wandering off to pastures new – a tragedy!
