Advantages: Good ways of using up tinned meat....

A year or so again, back in the mists of magazine publishing time, this was an interesting, informative, well researched magazine for people who were deeply passionate about food. Under the leadership of a new editor, a clear decision has been taken to change the target audience. The entire magazine is now dedicated to Marvellous Meals in Minutes / Delightful Dinners in a Dash / How to cook with a child hanging from each arm, etc etc. A very lucrative sector I'm sure, but surely one that is hugely over-catered (no pun intended) for. I am now offered to 'unmissable' chance to eavesdrop at the dinner parties of randomly selected friends of the editorial staff, or to spend a pleasant afternoon losing myself in whimsical little pieces of 'food fiction'. If you are part of the new target readership, this is an excellent magazine, but them so are many others. If you are serious about food, back to the bookshelf for Elizabeth David I'm afraid.
