You may not want to throw it away (BBC Homes and Antiques)

Advantages: So much info you don't find elsewhere Disadvantages: You might be envious of the beautiful homes How many magazines do you pick up and find that you have read them in a very short time because it was advert after advert after advertorial? This is not the case here, given that you have chosen to buy it because you are interested in Homes and Antiques you will find plenty to interest you. I have never read the magazine without making notes of companies that they have featured. I also always take away ideas. In fact, until recently when I was decluttering, I had kept almost 100 back copies for reference when I redecorated. They usefully have reader offers for lovely items to purchase at special offer prices. As to the antiques element, again very interesting articles, not least when they look at the Antiques Roadshow, (it is after all a BBC Magazine). It is sometimes quite fascinating to see how much or in some cases how little items are worth and you cannot help but make a mental note of those everyday old items that are worth money- in case they should appear in the window of your local charity shop. If you are interested in specialised high end antiques there are better choices of magazine for you- not that, that means you wouldn't enjoy it. Summary: An excellent read |
