Advantages: £1 or free. Full to the brim with good advice, tips and offers.
Disadvantages: Absolutely none other than the fact it might encourage you to buy more stuff!
Boots health & beauty magazine costs £1 or is free to advantage card holders and if you shop in boots why wouldn't you have an advantage card as that in itself is a very good product.
I believe this comes out once every two months and the edition I currently have is the March/April 2011 edition.
The front cover gives you a taster of what's inside. There are best buys, skincare favouries, offers to get discounts from your favourite labels, health advice and advantage card offers.
Of course it is a magazine filled with adverts that pertain to health and beauty products in the main which is helpful in itself but what I like is the combination of real people on the street and their experiences of certain products intermingled with expert advice and tips from both.
This magazine is very up-to-date as far as what is new on the market and what current trends are when it comes to make-up in particular and what is hot right now.
There is a good mix of your average person's account of how they maintain their health and beauty regimes alongside hollywood and celebrity tips and secrets to looking their best.
Contributors to the magazine include a GP, a make-up artist, the founder of soap & glory and a boots optometrist and between them they are able to adequately cover most issues that surround our health and our yearning to look the best we can!
On one page you have an article about glass frames and what suits who best and on the next page tips on first-aid essentials so even if you are not heavily into skin products or make-up there is something useful in there for everyone.
There is a real life feature which makes this even more like your ordinary mag (just loads cheaper) where real people tell you how they have changed their lives in someway - whether it be finding a new job, getting fit or changing their overall appearance in some way.
An article about how to get a good night's sleep would be invaluable to most people and there are numerous tips and advice from health and beauty insiders.
At the back of the magazine you get a whole page of money off or additional points vouchers that far outweigh the cost of the magazine so another great reason to get this magazine each time it comes out.
All in all I think this is a great mazaine to have a flick through especially if you want to keep up to date with what is going on in the health and beauty industry or even if you just want something to do whilst enjoying a cuppa as there is so much crammed in that there is sure to be something that appeals to you or catches your eye. There are also a few pages that are dedicated to men so even they will find something worthwhile to read if only whilst feeling bored sitting on the loo!
Don't miss out - buy this or get an advanatge card quick and reap the benefits. The only downside I can see in getting and reading this magazine is that you may end up splashing out more on products than you otherwise would!
Thanks for reading. x
Summary: A great magazine for great value!
