Advantages: good value for money and interesting

Disadvantages: Only out once a week

Well, I buy this magazine every Thursday, so I decided to write a review about it. So here goes.

A SHORT INTRODUCTION
-----------------------------------

IPC, are the company that own chat, although I do believe that they did buy it from another company. IPC run a number of magazines which include: What's on TV, Now, Marie Claire, In Style, Woman & Home, Ideal Home, Loaded, Nuts, NME, Wallpaper*, Country Life, The Field, Rugby World, Practical Boat Owner, Pick Me Up, TV easy plus many more. Chat is the best selling Magazine that they do at the moment. Chat is released once a week on a Thursday. They also do Summer specials and Christmas specials, etc.

THE COVER
------------------

The magazine is very colourful, with a few headlines of just a few of their stories that you will find in the magazine. It also has the released date, and the price of the Magazine, and also shows the price of some other countries. The costs are as follows:

England- £0.78p
Spain/Grease- Euro 2.50
Canada- $4.00

Then if you turn to the back page you will usually find an advertisement, of some kind.

THE MAGAZINE
---------------------

On opening the Magazine, you will find the Lives, Loves And Laughs page. Also you will find the How To Contact us part, this is helpful for when you want to send them a story in, which stories can be paid anything up to £500 so well worth it.
You will also see a short introduction to the Magazine from the Editor Gilly Sinclair. Just below that you will find the list of contents, so this is what you will find in this magazine:

MORE TRUE STORIES.
----------------------------

This is the part with all the page numbers to each of the true stories in them; there are the 2-minute chats, which consist of 6 stories. Plus 4 other true stories.

HEY GOOD LOOKING
---------------------------

This is showing the page numbers for:
Fashion - which consists of 2 full pages of fashionable clothes, which shops you can buy them from, and how much they cost. They have one model that wears all the different designs.
Beauty - which shows you some different types of beauty products, price, where to buy them and they also give ratings out of 10 on some products. They also have Martyn Fletcher, who answers your beauty questions, usually one shown per week.

FEELING FANTASTIC
--------------------------

This includes the page numbers for:

Health - this runs over 2 pages, and is about different illnesses and tells you details about them. You can also send Health problems in to Dr Martin Edwards.

Share it with Denise - This is the Magazines Agony Aunt, who will answer any personal problems that you may have.

PSYCHIC STUFF
-------------------

This includes page numbers for:

Spooky stories - these are spooky stories what have really happened to the readers.

Ruth The Truth - This is another form of agony aunt but in the psychic sense.

You're Stars - this includes all-star signs and is written by Bernard Fitzwalters.

WEEKLY FAVES
---------------------

This includes page numbers for:

Your Letters - These are funny tales and occasionally sad tales sent in by the readers.

Home - This is only a small section, which shows you things to buy for the home, with a price and where to buy them.

What's On The Box- This is a brief page about what will happen in the soaps for the week.

Travel - This gives you holiday's descriptions, with a brief description of the place and how you can book your holiday.

Blimey, That's Weird - This is only a small section about the weird stuff people or animals can do.

Just Kidding- is where you will find the funny and sometimes sad stories about your children or grandchildren.

Tried And Tested and Food - this is the food page where it gives you the recipe on how to make things, this changes each week, and they also pick a product, buy it from different shops, then mark them out of 10.

Chat Love Lines - This is a page where people are looking for love and they have put a short piece in about themselves, with a box number that people can call, to leave a message for them.

We won with Chat - This is a list of all winners in a previous issue, usually a couple of months previously. It also has then entry form for this weeks answers.

What's The Answer - This is a page showing the answers to the puzzles two weeks previously.

Blimey that's clever - this is full of tips on how to get rid of stuff like stains, and how to save money on things.

Be In It To Win It - This contains the page numbers to 16 puzzles that are all worth either cash prizes or holidays.

OK enough about the Magazine Let me tell you what I thought of it.

MY PERSONAL THOUGHTS ON CHAT
---------------------------------------------

I really love this magazine and purchase it every week on a Thursday. The layout is great and so is the price.
The stories that appear in Chat are just so interesting to read, and some can really bring a tear to my eye. Once I have picked up this magazine to read, I do find it really hard to put back down again.

I love doing the puzzles, they really get my mind stimulated, although I must admit I very rarely finish them, as some are pretty hard to complete.

The only down side to this magazine is, that I have usually finished reading it by the Friday, then I have to wait till the following Thursday for it to come out again.

I also feel there is too many advertisements, and phone line pages, which could be filled with even more stories.

Also I am not a big fan of fashion, beauty or health, so I very rarely read these pages, but they are useful pages that others would be interested in reading.

I would say that this magazine is mainly for women, but i am sure the men will also have a read of it when you are not there, they just wont admit it loll.

WOULD I RECOMMEND BUYING THIS MAGAZINE?
------------------------------------------------- ------------

Absolutely, no doubt about it, there is really anything bad about this magazine, and there is something for everyone in it.

Summary: great read
