Advantages: There are lots of real life stories, puzzles and prizes to be won.
Disadvantages: There are other puzzle magazines out there offering higher prizes.
Chat magazine comes out every Thursday and it costs 78p (what a bargain). The magazine is full of real life stories and there are lots of competitions for you to enter.
Being honest I don't always buy this magazine I normally buy it about once a month as I buy Take a break which is a similar magazine most weeks instead.
On the first couple pages of the magazine it has photo that people have sent in whether it's there claim to fame by having a picture taken with a celebrity or a photo that they love. For every photo that gets printed the person gets £25.
Throughout the magazine there is lots of real life stories some I find really interesting others I don't read all the way through I just browse. The stories vary a lot some could be about someone being killed the next could be about how someone done a marathon. A lot of the stories are quite sad and after you have read them you find yourself thinking to yourself how lucky you are to have a life like you have got. The length in stories varies to some are two pages others are a lot smaller. That's why this magazine makes a great magazine as you can choose which stories to read depending on how long you have.
Your stars- Bernard Fitzwalter tells you all about your star sign each week I used to read this a lot but I don't now as a lot of the stuff that was said in my horoscope never happens but some people are really interested in this
Your letters- People write in with any comments that they have about the stories that they have read or any small stories that they want to tell you about.
Spooky- I don't read this part of the magazine as I normally end up scaring myself reading the stories but to a lot of people like this page acts as a closure as people write in if they have questions about whether someone they know who has passed away is looking down on them etc..
Health- There are various questions that people have wrote in with and want answers to. The questions are all different some can be about health others about things that they want to know but are too embarrassed to ask people.
The puzzles- I love doing the puzzles there are lots of different types of puzzles such as word searches, crosswords, spot the difference and lots more. Once you have worked out the answers then there is a bit at the back of the magazine which you write your answers on and send off. It tells you what prize you'll win the prizes are mostly cash prices which go from winning £25 to a £1001 and sometimes they have little holiday breaks that you can win.
There are lots more bits in the magazine that I haven't mentioned but this is some of the main bits. I mainly buy the magazine to do the puzzles; I do struggle with some of them though. I used to find these really easy when I lived with my parents as I used to answer the questions I knew then my dad would answer the rest but now it's just me I'm not getting very far. I haven't won any competitions yet but I'll keep trying even if it is only one answer on the sheet that I send off. But overall a good magazine with lots of stories and has some great puzzles for you to do. The only negative thing I can say is that there are other puzzle magazines out there that offer higher prizes but any prize is better then none.
Summary: Overall a good magazine.
