Disadvantages: Competitions are mostly wordsearches - boring, Prizes are mostly cash - no hols or cars

This is how 'new look' Chat magazine bills itself. To be honest, I don't know when this new look appeared, as it seems like the same Chat as it always was ... but that's not to say anything against the publication.

Chat, priced at 66 pence, is a 60 page weekly tabloid style women's magazine which comes out every Thursday. Apart from the regular magazine, Chat also published a number of associated off shoots like,Summer Special, or Prize Puzzles and so forth.

The main part of Chat weekly, is made up of prize competitions, the prizes of which range from about £250 to a whopping £400. Out of around 12 - 14 competitions featured each week though, around 10+ of these have cash prizes (majority around £250) which is OK .... but a bit more variety in prizes would be nice. Where are the holidays, household goods and cars? Also, the majority of their puzzles are word search grids ... which arereally tedious to do! This is the only down side about Chat. Because the prizes and the puzzles themselves are so boring, if you like, you don't have that much of an incentive to fill them in. Those in Take a Break and That's Life are far better and have better prizes.

Chat is not all made up of puzzles however. Thererae lots of readers true life stories, interiors, show biz, travel, health, beauty etc. There are also quite a few columns for readers to contribute to; Blimey THat's Clever, Naughty Jokes, Your Letters to name but three.
