      Very helpful

Now this was a great magazine, giving details of a whole range of works as well as including a great cd with a range of samples. I liked this cd method as it gave you a taster of styles you might not go out and buy, I find that the cds provided by some other magazines (BBC mentioning no names) tend to feature a whole work. If I wanted that then I would go out and buy a cd rather than a magazine. The full work is usually just standard run-of-the-mill fare, which is cheaply available and already on most peoples shelves, so basically a waste of time. THe Classic CD cover cd, however, continued the exploration experience of the magazine, provided tracks to demonstrate points they had made in the article. Unfortunately though, it was the wider appeal of the magazine that lead to its downfall. It did not specialise enough (read "too much") and so could not find a niche in the market. This lack of intellectual specialisation was one of the things that appealed to me more than other competing mags. But, after I had been a subscriber for only two months (having only bought sporadically before then but settling down to commit to my music degree) the magazine send out a letter detailing their demise and offering a reduced subscription to the BBC mag or my money back. The demise of this magazine is a real shame.
