I've only read this one a few times, and I'm in two minds about it. On the one hand it does seem to have a rather high percentage of actual content to ads and other garbage. Whereas some music magazines have only one main feature, such as an interview, padded out with a lot of fake material, Classic FM may have multiple interviews, and an 'in depth' article on some aspect of music.

On the other hand, it is aimed at a very low intellectual level. Recently an article was featured on the effects of music on the brain, and, as it happened, I was just reading a lot of research in the same area for an assignment. And reading the Classic FM special, which was about 12 pages long, I realised it managed to say nothing of substance in those 12 pages. Articles which claim to deal with music itself are invariably concerned only with historical background to the music, and anecdotes surrounding its composition. It's a bit like reading a magazine which claims to be about football, but only concerns itself with the lovelives and dietary habits of the players, rather than discussing the game itself.

But this does have a place. And it mirrors the level of the station itself very well. If you find that you enjoy listening to Classic FM, then you will love the magazine - what's more, it doesn't have any of those incredibly annoying radio-ads!!
