This magazine is advertised as "Family Circle plus: The only family Internet magazine." That is maybe, but at £2.50, for the magazine and a free piece of cardboard (honest!!), the October 2000 issue is a waste of that £2.50. The mag is split into several sections: In The News Shopping Features Net Finder Offers and Competitions. Along with a "pull-out" 24 page section which claims to "make the Net more easy." This magazine is marketed towards the average housewife, who as well as cleaning the house and running up the latest "Prima" dress and cooking the latest "Family Circle" recipes (ha, ha!), they can find time to sit at a computer and find out what is in it for them! Well, personally, I find it quite an insult to people's intelligence! I am quite knowledgeable about ICT and the internet, this magazine taught me nothing. However, my wife doesn't share my enthusiasm, and as this magazine is clearly aimed at her, I waved it under her nose. My suspicions were correct; she's not even ventured near the PC (except to dust it.) Perhaps if I win one of their competitions, I'll change my opinion, watch this space!
