Advantages: Full of Celeb Gossip and advice on Beauty, Health, Fashion

Disadvantages: Same week in, week out!

Closer is the ideal magazine for you if you love nothing more but to find out the latest gossip in “Celeb-land”. Basically, Closer is a jam packed magazine full of the latest gossip circling the Celeb World with articles such as “Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt Split Up”… “Paris Hilton Goes To Jail” … “Lindsay Lohan Gets Admitted To Rehab” etc. Closer isn’t just full of Celeb fuelled gossip, but real-life stories from reader’s in the UK. Articles include “How I got over my cheating husband” etc. The magazine also offers competitions, advice on health, beauty, relationships and fashion.

There are many other magazines similar to Closer which include Reveal, Now, New, Heat, Star etc. These magazines are all of similar nature and include a lot of the same articles, so the best bet is to buy just one of the magazines, instead of them all! If you get them all, I think you’ll be quite disappointed as the stories are extremely similar, including the photographs and are just worded differently.

I have to admit, I am a bit of a sucker when it comes to magazines such as Closer. On my way home from work, I am quite often tempted to buy this magazine for my journey home. Reading Closer definitely beats listening to “Chav’s” on the train listening to their music out loud… grr!

Closer is available in most newsagents, supermarkets etc for a small cost of £1.00, although prices do vary depending on what issue you purchase. You can subscribe to this magazine for a year and the cost of magazine per week will work out cheaper than it would if you bought it each week. Each issue comes out weekly with new stories. Some stories are great… some aren’t and are there to fill up the pages!

Overall, I am not a dedicated reader to Closer or similar magazines. I do tend to buy them to pass the time on a boring train journey, but I wouldn’t go out my way to purchase this magazine. For me, it isn’t exciting enough. The stories are similar each week and the worst part, is that they fuel their articles and the profits they make, by insulting, humiliating and damaging “Celebrities”.

I’d recommend this magazine to anyone who loves a good gossip, but if you’re looking for something to get you gripped, this is not a magazine I would recommend.

As this magazine is full of gossip, thr majority of the stuff cannot be trusted as genuine... So I wouldn't depend on the information 100%!
